Maybe SEC team of 2004, but definitely not the decade. Their one-point victory over LSU fell under questionable officiating (and LSU was the only team to finish with a winning record in the West that year), and they barely scraped by a flat out godawful Alabama team.
But then again, were they any better or worse than Florida was last year? They finished undefeated, but despite Florida's one loss, they still won all of their games with ease.

Very stupid thing to hold against that Auburn team.
1. It happened.
2. It would have only sent it into overtime if called the other way. Auburn was the better team and at home so you would more than likely favor them in an overtime period.
They had like the #1 scoring defense in the country and by far the most well balanced offense this decade.

I think 2004 Auburn was the best team so far this decade in the SEC. They are the only ones to go undefeated, and they had two running backs taken in the top 5 of the same draft. All together, they had four first round draft picks in the 2005 draft. However, I wouldn't say they are the "team of the decade" because they didn't win the NC. I'd go 2008 Florida.

That is kind of a bull shite reason since it isn't their fault the media actually believes in OU unlike the SEC fans.
It might happen again this year, but it is bull shite to fault an undefeated BCS team for not winning a BCS titile.

I know its not Auburn's fault, and I'm not trying to penalize them. I did say I thought they were the best team. However, they aren't going to be remembered like the championship teams from Florida and LSU because they didn't win it all. Its not their fault they didn't get the chance, but that's just a fact. Like I said, best team in the decade? Probably. "Team of the decade?" No.

In 2004 Auburn gave up a total of 147 points total 70 of those points came in the 4th quarter when the defense went into prevent mode. Jason Campbell was shakey until the 4th quarter of the LSU game, after that he never looked back he averaged 186 passer rating on 3rd downs I can't think of a single SEC QB who has done that since for an entire season. There are other very good teams this decade, LSU 2003, UGA 2002, UF 2006 and 2008 but I'd still take the AU team over them all but hey I'm a homer.

You sir are a moron....the only possible UF team that would come close to beating the 04 AU team is last years and I don't think so...we beat UFs other NC team in their only loss in 2006...Saban's team wouldn't get it done either...I mean c'mon the entire backfield in the 1st round...and the circumstances surrounding that season made it even better..
