re: Auburn 2-8 the last 10. Why is this? Auburn fans said Freeze was Saban level.

I have literally never heard one Auburn fan say this.

Not going to argue that point, but I don't think you can lay the Mizzou loss at Thorn's feet. Looked more like poor game planning and lack of effort on other players' part.

Thorne played a bit better. Still some of the same ole shite from him. But we win that game if the receiver catches the perfectly thrown ball in the corner of the end zone.

Yes, we’re “better” than our record but we still are a team with that record. We haven’t been ranked since 2021. I saw some clips from the 2013 Iron Bowl on Tik Tok last night and it really hit me how absurdly bad our program has gotten. It doesn’t make sense, but a few bad hires can really tank you. Freeze has recruiting going, but I have no belief we’ll keep the class the way it is.

Neither has anyone else. Look at who started this thread. The guy is obsessed with hating Auburn. What’s really weird is he’s apparently an Ole Miss fan, not exactly one of Auburns main traditional rivals. Only thing I can think is something happened to him in the past like the school bully who kicked his arse and gave him wedgies daily was an Auburn fan. Or maybe his stepdad who beat him was an Auburn fan, or he caught his girlfriend getting plowed by an Auburn fan, something along those lines. Whatever it was, it left him mentally warped.

Both Auburn and Mississippi State are better than their record. They are going to sneak up on someone.

They’re a perfect example of what not to do. Since Urban Meyer left, they’ve gone through like six or seven coaches in only 14 years.

I don';t disagree with the point you're making, but they're on coach 4: Muschamp for 3 years, McElwain for 3, Mullen for 4, and Napier is in year 3

In prior eras I agree, but in the portal era, you can rebuild a program quicker. Nonetheless, it's simply amazing to me in the portal era that Freeze hasn't been able to find a better QB than Payton Thorne. Auburn doesn't have a losing record right now with even a serviceable QB.

They're better than their record, seriously. I don't know what's going on between Freeze and Thorne, but it's a weird relationship. They're never in the same page. I can't believe Freeze made some of those calls late against Missouri.

That was a gift of a win. I'll take it after the one Mizzou giftwrapped two years ago, though.

God bless Brady.

Freeze put his faith in Thorne turning the corner. I guess he thought with the influx of highly talented young receivers, Thorne would blossom into this great QB that Freeze believed he could be. And at times, we’ve seen flashes of this. The problem though is that Thorne has proven to be highly inconsistent and prone to making horrid decisions. He’s just as likely to throw a pick six or make the wrong read that causes a negative play as he is to hit a perfect 20+ yard completion.

IMO, the biggest mistake Freeze has made as the Auburn HC is not getting a QB in the portal. Had he done that, Auburn most likely is sitting at 5-2 or perhaps even 6-1 and the conversation about Auburn would be far different than what it is now. That’s how important the QB position is in college football today.

I love it when idiots like you make a complete arse of themselves and shows the whole board how truly stupid they are. Makes identifying the trolls that much easier.

Auburn is 6th in all time wins, barely ahead of Ole Miss.

I agree, it does show how stupid you are.

Hugh would blame Joe Montana for a loss if he was his QB. He's a POS.

100% serious — I was watching that game up until Auburn missed the FG and apparently that's when the wheels came off.

What actually happened? I know Mizzou got Cook back at some point, right?

But what did Freeze do to facilitate their comeback? I honestly missed it.

I didn’t watch it as I was traveling back home from Mexico, but I’m going to say having Throwne start and play the hole second half.

Nobody said Freeze was Saban. We are incredibly young but should have some more wins with better coaching.

Looks like I know it a lot better than you do. 6th all times in wins is top tier according to you. It is exactly mid tier. Bury that head in the sand some more

The young defense is well coached & plays extremely hard. Other than #27, 11 & 5, the offense is the exact opposite.

Boy, I’ve forgot more about SEC football than you’ll ever know.

I guess you’re too stupid or ignorant to have ever heard of the Big 6 in SEC football.

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
LSU
Tennessee

These six programs, commonly referred to as the “Big Six” have all won or shared every SEC championship going back to 1963. Also, these are the SEC programs that have have won national championships in that timeframe.

The “Big Six” is the top tier of the conference you stupid little shite. Anyone claiming to know anything about the SEC should know this.

That’s your history lesson, boy.
