yep, the difference is one team allowed 26 and 400 yards and the other didn't.

You are comparing apples and oranges.

This is the correct answer

not at all
if you want to be a top team, all of these schools are equally shitty

the apple has a bad defense because they did nothing to address it?

That is quite possibly the most retarded thing I have read in a long time. Every team is different and every team plays different day-to-day.
Example: We beat the dogshit out of Ole Miss last year Ole Miss beat LSU (who happened to beat the dogshit out of Auburn).
Any given Saturday.

why are you bringing up the transitive property when AU and MSU didn't play a common opponent?

Old School AU would have beat them 26 to nothing and had 242 yards and allowed none...new AU scores 26 more points and has 242 more yards. I'd prefer if we could have the best of both worlds...that would be great...and hold them to negative yards and no points while scoring a 1/2 benjamin with more than 600 yards. Didn't happen though....
Sorry state...when you wake up Friday morning, your team will still be in Starkville, you will still be State, and Auburn will have beaten you....again.

My point was less about the transitive property and more about the fact that anything can happen on gameday and any conclusion drawn about one team being better than another based on one day is premature and stupid.
To say that Memphis and Arkansas State are both equally as bad/good because they are not a top tier team is stupid.

Yeah...the difference is that AU isn't doing gymnastics based on that game. And Auburn beat State last year handily.
