I got curious and looked at MW's situation. While they've done well managing their pitching so far, they just aren't very deep there (surprise, surprise for a 4 seed with a losing record).

It looks like they will either have to bring someone back who's already thrown around 60 pitches this weekend, or they'll have to start Fishnick or Vander Loop.

Fishnick would be my guess. He has 35.2 IP on the year, but only 1 start. ERA is respectable at 4.54 and his WHIP is 1.54. He's mostly been a 1 or 2 inning guy though, with only 2 outings 3.0 IP or more (season best is 4.2). Could be your opener.

If they go with Vander Loop, you guys better build a big lead before they can get him out. He's got a 9.71 ERA and a 1.96 WHIP on 29.2 IP. His last 4 outings have combined for 15 IP, but he's given up 16 runs in that same stretch.

Good luck.

I'm guessing we'll throw Marciano out there after he got chased early on Friday. Maybe Jackson Sanders could throw some? It'll be a hodgepodge of low inning guys after that. Hopefully the offense will be clicking.

The good news is our ace only threw 28 pitches on Friday so he's good to go.

The bad news is they saw him really well and teed off on him.

Our entire season is basically riding on his arm.

The relative humidity was 100% at noon on Friday. . Balls fly farther and pitches break less, and that is really bad for a guy that relies on location and movement. At 5 pm, humidity should be 50-60% if the weather holds up. And 50-60% is perfect for pitcher like marciano

Didn’t help that his velo was in the 7A HS baseball range. He was literally throwing BP to a team that hit .270 on the season.

Believe it or not, we only used 3 pitchers yesterday over two games, several rain delays, and 14 hours at the park.

If Marciano has his stuff, I like our chances today. Plus our offense is clicking for everyone but one of our best hitters in Bub Terrell. If our first baseman and catcher keep bombing the way they’ve been hitting we’re going to be tough to beat. That said, I think it all hinges on how Marciano fares on the mound.
