Doesnt your team need a new OC? Why not focus on them?

Just have Aub friends who want to go back to a normal pro-style offense..

I am pretty sure our style will stay the same..
Run the ball, throw a lil bit.. stop the run..

I've got this idea in my head of a wishbone type offense.

I'm seeing a lot of chatter about former Tejas OC Greg Davis. I really hope it's just chatter.

Well it depends on what they want a quick fix or an overhaul? They have recruited for a spread and we all know how the spread works agianst defense's in the SEC and if they go with the pro style then they will be a bit like Muschamp right now and will go through about a 1-2 yr rebuilding process.

The spread has produced three SEC & BCS Championships in the past six years. Twice with QB's of the likes of Tebow and Newton but also with a run of the mill QB like Cris Leak. You do not have to have a superman at QB for the spread to work. You just have to have good athletes who can execute. How is that any different than any other system?

I know many here have some romantic view that the "old school" pro-style is somehow superior to the spread but that is simply not the case. On the other hand i'm not saying the spread is superior to the pro-style. Rather my point here is that the system is really irrelevant compared to having athletes who can execute. Yes the spread uses different players with a different skill set than the pro-style. but in the end both systems do the same thing, they just go about it in different ways.

Auburn doesn't have the personnel to run a "pro-style" offense. No fullback, and no drop-back, pocket passer worth a damn. It would be dumb on Chizik's part to scrap the offensive philosophy he's recruited for.

My guess is that he'll go for something similar, a run-option, power spread attack that utilizes vertical routes. I think Baylor's co-OC, Montgomery, would be a good choice...and cheap, which would open up the $ to pay Stoops.
