I'm sure that you caught the part about entering an OOC comparison with a UGA fan being a common sense test.

I'm not surprised an Aubie entered this discussion (Aggie, too).

Was not a problem until SEC moved to 14 teams, BIG12 is now playing round-robin

Rotating western teams has never been an issue because it has never been a priority.

UGA has played 11 total games in Baton Rouge.
UGA has played 9 total games in Tuscaloosa.

Now all of a sudden that we have gone to 14 teams, how often we travel to all 13 teams is a huge priority.

6-2-1 would make more sense. If you have 3 cross division rivals maybe its time to develop some new ones in your division.

It definitely makes more sense for Auburn to be in the East than Missouri. Auburn is close to the Georgia/Alabama border and about half of their recruits come from the state of Georgia.

Yeah. cuz playing arkansas, ole miss, and miss st more often makes more sense than playing Clemson, OK State, Boise, and GT?

No thanks.
Keep hoping for that 6-2-1, though.
Let me know how that works out for you in the SEC.

Drop the shitty D2 schools and play an extra cross division rival.

Give it a few more years and Bama students will quit caring about Tenn due to their level of suckage.

They crappy "rivalry" will eventually vanish and we can all get on with our lives.

Lol.

that is the funniest thing I have read on this thread.

What school is going to sacrifice a home only game for a home and home matchup?

As I said earlier, UGA travels on the road to OOC AQ schools better than any other team in the conference.
But no school in their right mind is going to give up a home only game for a home and home against an additional conference opponent.

Maybe mizzou should up their ooc scheduling?

Who would you like us to play? We've played a Big 10 team the last couple of years and UCF. Illinois refuses to play us anymore because we embarrassed them so bad. Id like to play Iowa but I doubt that will happen.

Also front page ESPN on SEC FCS opponents.

LINK

I rather have an extra conference game versus playing some MAC or fricken bottom tier AAC school.

Fcs opponents is such a red herring.
It is a meaningless complaint.
It is an attempt to ignore the 10 tougher opponents on the schedule (or lack thereof).

Every home only game is by definition a cupcake.
It is by definition, paying a patsy to come and take a poundingin your home stadium.
Why should New Mexico State be any different than Appalachian State or Georgia Southern?
It isn't any different. They all suck.

Because of the money involved, why would a school not help support a small program within the state. Or why not support a small school that has coaching ties to the program? Why is that so hard to comprehend?
Why not worry about the 2 hardest OOC games and not worry about the 12th weakest contest on the schedule?

Because you think Ed Aschoff is a good journalist? ha
He's just stoking the fires that get internet clicks.
Either he knows his complaint about the 12th hardest team on the schedule is a non-issue or he is an idiot.
The SEC and ESPN now control the conference scheduling so there will not be a week where the entire SEC is playing patsies. It is a moot point.

Maybe you should expand your horizon to the ACC or Pac 10 for ooc games?

Maybe you should build a bigger stadium and generate more revenue to attract better home and home contests.

Don't cry to me.
If you don't like what's going on, fire your AD and get someone who knows how to get results.

I don't have an issue with our schedule. I rather play A&M every year then some random Pac 14 school.

Tv draws better on the OOC matchups.

And if your fans travel, they very well could be more excited about a trip out West versus going to college station.

Dawgfans loved the trips to Arizona State and Colorado.
A lot more scenic than Fayetteville and Starkville if you catch my drift.

We played Arizona St a few years ago, I dont recall us traveling well at all for that game. A game in College Station is much better for recruiting and tickets then a game in Washington or California. I can't think of the last non Juco player we got out of Cali.

Keep recruiting texas if you like.

You may find it easier to focus on ATL and Florida.
It is more centralized than the state of texas and you will have more prospects to pick from.

We didn't go to ASU or Colorado to find recruits.
But then again, our home state isn't Missouri. LOL.

Mizzou seems to be focusing quite a lot on Georgia and Florida. The truth is Texas still holds a ridiculous amount of D1 caliber talent.

Playing an OOC game just to play isnt always fruitful. Im dure Tennessee is regretting its Oregon scheduling quite a bit recently. Also its a shot in the dark that both teams will be competitive that year when the schedules are made years in advance.
