is going to hurt them. This has been done before. I realize that Cam was a transfer and to reel him in Chizik probably pulled an Orgeron/Schaefer stunt that by default made him the starter.

More than any team in the SEC, I believe the promises made to this year's recruiting class will bite AU in the long run. No doubt a majority of the signees were probably promised more playing time than any recruit from UF, UAt, Arky, or LSU. People are overhyping Auburn because of last year's offensive performance combined with this year's recruiting class.

IMO, I think the SEC has a bead on the gimmicks. I'm not hating on AU but I still think they lose 5 regular season games next year.

Wrong. Cam was promised nothing.

Based on what evidence?

Who is? Auburn fans are saying we'll be happy with 8-10 wins in the regular season.

What gimmicks? Malzahn's offense? We'll see.

Hopefully not and I think we'd all be disappointed with that.

I think they might be hyping him up a little too much and expecting too much out of him, but Newton >>>> Schaeffer as a QB. Not even close.

I agree. I mean, the kid has a chance to be special but I'll be happy if he just improves our offense past the point where Todd could take it.

AU went head to head with way more recent successful programs for recruits. IMO AU does not have the best facilities, the best coaches, the best academic center, etc...

IMO to pull a better recruiting class than both LSU or Alabama who vied for the same recruits wreaks of something fishy. The least sinister would "promised playing time."

How do you know? Schaeffer had the exact same hype without the thuggish background.

"AuburnPivot WAR EAGLE, 2010 is gonna be our year!!!

No doubt he's a big QB. Turn up sound and listen to that smack down. Ouch.

Key phrase there. Just because, in your opinion, Auburn doesn't have the best of those areas, doesn't mean they don't. Obviously, kids love our coaching staff.

Found your problem assclown. That is your opinion. Your opinion does not matter, only the opinion of the recruits. There is nothing wrong with any of our facilites.

Not really. Newton is an actual QB. Schaeffer was just the most athletic player on his HS team and a lot of people were convinced he was the next Vick. If I remember right, the reason he went to UTk was because Fulmer was just about the only coach who was gonna let him play QB.

I never said it wasn't.

I bet if you look around (just like at any program) you will find players that love and don't like the coaches.

Bingo! That is exactly why Schaeffer went to OM but it wasn't just for the opportunity to play QB, it was also for playing time.

As someone who is the age of the recruits I can assure you kids my age don't care about the facilities. As long as they aren't absolute crap they will be impressed. Kids care about publicity, makin it to the nfl, playing time, and where their friends go. Why do you think Bama is getting more Georgia recruited lately? It's because Alabama is a better team than Georgia right now. This means they get more time on sportscenter. No one wants to play for the team that gets no time on sportscenter.
