But seriously, I don't feel that you will have faced a better DL than you will at Auburn. Your OL is good, but they're not as good as what our DL faces in practice.

No it isn't. Also the favorite usually wins this game just as much if not more than any other games.

This...the IB rarely has upsets.

and how much of Bama's scoring is on punt returns or KO returns for TDs? Steven Clark won't allow Jones to return the ball one single time on a punt. Parkey will kick it out of the end zone every time. Bama will HAVE to score on offense. They won't be spotted a special teams victory against Auburn.

Since the VT game, they only have one special teams TD.

Lower ranked team has won in 2001, 2002, 2005... and AU was an underdog in 2010.

It's true that when Auburn wins it is usually close (I don't think Auburn has won by more than 10 since 1969 or something like that), but there have been quite a few blowouts going the other way.

I'll say a lot of the reason there weren't more blowouts during the six-game streak is Tuberville's style of play. He'd typically lay down or do only as needed. But wasn't 2005 something like 28-3 when Tubbs layed down? But I guess the same could be said for Stallings and that 21-0 game or whatever it was early on before we made a mini-comeback. But when is the last time Alabama has blown out an Auburn team that ended the season with less than 5 losses? Two of those blowouts were against 9 and 7 loss teams. Except for those and 2011, it has indeed been really close

Auburn has not layed the wood, from a score board perspective, in a long time like the 50s.

2005 was a beating regardless of the final score.

They just don't know their history very well. The IB is ALWAYS a toss up

AU is quite good this year and I think the game's going to be pretty competitive but this statement is just flat out 100% wrong.

The fact is that the favored team almost always wins the Iron bowl with almost no upsets by big underdogs.

Roll Bama Roll

As the links point out, the false 'throw out the records' claim is because people's memories inflate things over time. Punt Bama Punt's a great example. It's supposed to have been a huge upset but that was a very good 1 loss Auburn team.

I actually agree with this. I think we are a year away from being able to really clog the gaps and hold a team like Bama under 100 yds rushing. I think we will score a lot - which will help keep the game closer than the last 2 years. But I think it will take a couple of turnovers, and a defensive and/or special teams TD for us to win this game - I really do. Wish I were wrong.

Now, I can live with that given how good Bama is and has been. However, I want to beat the hell out of Tennessee and outlast GA. Tired of losing to those fricks. I'll take a 10-2 record and a New Years bowl with bells on....what an amazing season that would be for us given where we came from, and given the injuries and resulting porous nature of our defense in the middle. Love this team though.

I'm sure there are a lot of reasons, but I basically just wanted to state that since the last time Auburn won by more than 10 Alabama has won by more than 10 fifteen different times and won by more than 20 nine different times. I don't have any other reason for stating this expect that I like these numbers. And it's kind of interesting given the closeness of the overall series during much of this time, all of the blowouts have been on one side.

And I agree that 2005 was pretty much a beatdown that the final score didn't reflect (But as ole Brodie said, Bama won the last three quaters though, )

Auburn goes winless in the SEC last year, and now they are the clear favorite over Bama.

You're right. Auburn is going to manhandle Bama. I just hope we don't get embarrassed. I'll probably just go to the movies that Saturday.
