I think the o-line will be solid as long as Grimes is coaching them.

Y'all will have a choice of a sophmore (Blake Burgess) or a true freshman (Reese Dismukes) at center. Solid, I'm not so sure.

3) Secondary

Summer workouts are going to be fierce. There are a lot of talented guys that will be out there in August fighting for position.

I think in the end, we will see Bell and Davis at corner and Thorpe and Mcneal at safetys. The Dline should be Nosa,Carter,Whitiker,Lemonier

Linebackers? Who knows. Freeman, Holland and Bates?

Here's the encouraging thing about the secondary...

There's no way in HELL it could be any worse.

That should be our starting 11.

Jonathan Rose will give much needed depth in the secondary.

I also think we will see a lot of rotation on defense this year. I look for Craig Sanders and Ford to play at end some and Sanders to even move inside some on run downs. I think Rose will get plenty of playing time at Corner and look for Ladarius Owens to play at backer a good bit. The days of our middle linebacker playing every down of the game should be over.

I dont see a reason why Rose, Florence, Davis, White, Therezie, Mincy, and Whitehead should not start getting themselves in order this year.

I cant believe a few of them wont be wearing red shirts.

Rose and Whitehead along with Davis will play but not sure about Therezie or Florence.

What do you think will be the toughest to overcome? Losing Cam? The ridiculous O-line? Fairley?

I think our o-line is going to be better than most think. Gus can make the offense work with Trotter, so I am going to say Fairley. We have some good young d-linemen, but no one that I think can dominate the way Fairley did. Also, we lack depth at DT.

If I had to pick one single thing that we will miss, it will be Cam on 3rd and short to medium. That was automatic.

I believe the offense will play well overall. I dont see us falling off the table with the talent we have and with a system that is friendly to new players. We will not be as effective as last year but we dont have the gorilla so that is expected..

The defense should be Ok. I see a lot of talent and most of the guys got experience last year. We dont have a dominate player up front but we didnt have one last year at this time either.

Experience on the road will be a huge hurdle. Going into LSU, Ark, USC and UGA will not be easy for a young team. We will need a few guys to step up and lead. At this point, not really sure who that will be.

We started 3 freshman OL in 2007 and won 9 games. With Malzahn as OC I think the offense will be just fine as usual. The defense is what needs to step its game up.

The blocking schemes are more complex now. Lucky for us we dont face any serious DL the first few games, until USCe adn Arky, so they should be fine.

Your defense was surprisingly good at making the stops when needed to seal some of the games in question. With added depth on that side of the ball, I think your OL will be your weak spot.

That is absolutely the truth. It can't be overstated how valuable that was. I wish I had the stats on what our percentage of conversion was on 3rd and 3 or less. It felt like 100%.

1. It is played out.
2. It won't be quite as apropos, this season.

True, Alabama teams have a history of losing to teams from Utah.

We'll need guys like Therezie for special teams headhunters like Sanders and McNeal last year.

I'd put money on Florence getting some PT at safety this year.

A good bit of the freshman will play this year, imo, just due to all around depth, whether it's in trash time or on special teams.

My guesses as to who will definitely redshirt from last years class....

Garrett
Harrell
O'Reilly
Robinson
Sigler
maybe Uzomah

I think everyone else will play on special teams, if nothing else.
