I am good friends with the ODK president and VP at AU and I don't remember either one of them talking about going to Tuscaloosa this week for this.

Think this tradition died awhile back

Don't feed into Brannigan. Don't let the Workaholics sig quote fool you, his schtick is far from funny.

Why does it matter if the SGA president jokes around with the song? It's a sports rivalry. The dude is president of a student body, not something that actually matters or has any impact on anything. I don't see anything wrong with having a little fun with it as long as it isn't vulgar or disrespectful.

It's like when everyone is doing raunchy "yo mama" jokes and laughing until the one person with a huge chip on his shoulder takes it as an insult and responds with a real insult.

I think they stopped that tradition last year but I could be wrong. I remember being pissed that nobody sang.

Here it is from last year.

His feigned lack of enthusiasm was not credible. He needed to own that bitch.

I suggest that the UA folks do the right thing and take the AU folks to get some Yellowhammers before the basketball game.

If I was sga president I would definitely pregame it at gallettes and show up wasted. Which is also, ironically, why I would never be elected to a position like sga president.

To be fair, here is the War Eagle rendition in 2011.

With all of those happy cheers for Gene and Auburn, it's like watching a movie when you know that the unsuspecting townspeople are in celebratory bliss all while the opposing faction is mounting the attack that will result in unavoidable calamity and doom.

I was impressed that Alabama's SGA president gave it his all.

The next time we have to thin the Auburn herd to maintain the appropriate and approved ratio of posters who affiliate with schools from the Heart of Dixie, I know who will be at the top of the list.

It think it was 2002 that the Bama SGA sang War Eagle but ended it by taking out a hidden Bama shaker and sang "You're Dixie's Football pride Crimson Tide!"

Because that's what you should do when you're awarding a SPORTSMANSHIP award, right?

You keep threatening to dump him and his alters. Yet you never do us the honor of following through with it. I won't get my hopes up this time.
