2008 was our last 30 win season. 2012 was our last 2nd place finish in the SEC.

I watched Mizzou play plenty. He walked into a situation with top 15 talent and did not win a single NCAA tournament game.

Top 15 talent? The team he inherited finished .500 in the Big 12 the prior year and our best player tore his ACL during the summer.

One crazy loss in a tournament known for crazy games does not supersede 6 wins against ranked opponents, a second place regular season finish (should have been first w/o the screw job in Lawrence), and a conference tourney title during our last season in the Big 12.

Same season brah. We are discussing Mizzou's 2011 season, right?

top 15 talent? are you kidding me?

i don't know where you guys still think mizzou has no tactical approach to their game like the SMA era and rely solely on player talent... coaches last year deserve much more credit for doing what they did with 7 schollies, small line up, and a new system.

If he can still manage to do well with the hodgepodge roster you'll have this year then we can talk about moving Haith up. If you want to talk about doing more with less, Cuonzo Martin is where it's at IMO.

7 is all you need. Ask Kentucky.

The Presseys, Denmon, Dixon, English, and Ratliffe is a pretty damn good top 6.

On top of that, I believe Nestor played a big role for Mizzou last year.

Haith's body of work during his career is very suspect imo.

Suitcase Mike Anderson

Do Missouri fans realize how ridiculous this nickname actually is considering your current head coach has had twice as many jobs as MA in a shorter amount of time?

Mike Anderson - 5 jobs in 30 years
Frank Haith - 10 jobs in 27 years

I mean I realize you got spurned and and had to come up with some sort of disrespectful nickname quickly but at least do a little research next time.

It wasnt just the move to Arkansas Cheshire. I think a lot of that nickname comes from him interviewing three different times during his stint at Mizzou for other jobs with the only thing keeping him around was pay raises.

He always had his suitcase packed....

I think the whole thing is kind of stupid myself but there is more to it than the Arkansas angle.

Our AD and fans asked for what we got.

We had Stansbury who assured mediocrity but they wanted more now we are picked last in the SEC and have the worst coach as well

Bundy, aren't you going to wait until at least he has a season and a full recruiting class?

Look at what Cuonzo did. A very similar situation and he had a very good first year and is now set up to clean up in recruiting.

Have you already made up your mind on Ray?

We only have 2 scholarships to give in the 2013 class one is already taken by a mediocre PG who isnt that athleteic (IJ Ready) the other is a Big we will sign who will likely be a fundamentally sound post players who screens a lot and plays good D.

We may not win a freaking SEC game this year. Im talking 0-18 we are THAT BAD.

I think he is a good guy who is looking for his "TYPE" of players, however I dont think his type of players will have the talent/athletic level to win in the SEC.

Cuanzo came to Tenn having been a Head Coach previously, Ray has ZERO HC experience. That's what worries me more than anything.

I really see this hire as a similar hire that we made in football when Jackie Sherrill retired and we hired Sylvester Croom. JMHO.

It's not like a coach leaves for his dream job at a better school with a better basketball program all the time.

They turned to name calling after the 'he can't recruit' stuff didn't work out. 2 Top 150 signees, Mr. Louisiana Basketball and a top 10 JUCO signed in 2012. and now the Top Center in the nation committed for 2013.

Why don't you ask Cuonzo Martin his opinion of Rick Ray? He'll sing you a little different tune.

Where would Stansbury have been picked with the roster situation we have(that HE caused)? Oh, that's right. Still last. Shouldn't have run off MULTIPLE good players over his dumbass Sidney situation. We'd have at LEAST 3 or 4 more returning contributors had he handled his business the right way.

I'm guessing you still want Polk as well huh? Since it's wrong for MSU to want more than mediocrity and all...

I grew up a Ron Polk fan, and will remain a Ron Polk fan as long as I live.

He made SEC baseball what it is today and also set up the foundation for Mississippi State baseball.

BIG Difference compairing Stansbury and Polk.

Especially behind Haith. They both took over teams last year that were in pretty similar situations after 2010-11, Haith went 30-5 and Kennedy went 14-18.

uhh right.

except for A&M had way more injury issues and Kennedy was dealing with getting diagnosed with a major disease. Also, Turg recruited like arse and left him with a dysfunctional and poorly put together team from the get go.

One good thing I must admit about Rick Ray is that he is coming in with NOBODY and i mean NOBODY giving him a shot at all to do well this year. If he does somehow find a way to start to turn things around at State he will really open a lot of people's eyes including myself.

Not in how they left the programs, it isn't. Both left destroyed programs that would've been in much better shape if we had the nerve to get rid of them when we should have.

Ron Polk part 2 was a joke from the beginning. If you paid any attention to the actual happenings of SEC baseball the past decade+, you'd know this as well.

What someone does in 1985 doesn't make them great in 2005.

Rick Ray will have a tough year this year no doubt, but not NEARLY as tough as your projecting. 6-12 to 8-10 in the SEC
