Having players being paid while at the school absolutely has to do with the school, regardless if they knew anything about it
Collin Sexton agrees.

You sure are stuck on Auburn, but this isn’t about Auburn. This is about Alabama football players getting paid, game over.

Yep, very similar to that scheme and the Reggie Bush scheme
Two similar schemes that highlight the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the ncaa
Wasn’t part of the Bush decision based on him driving luxury cars around to and to practice with not a single coach questioning what the hell was going on? I honestly can’t remember the details of it.
Hell I’m not even sure if borrowing cars is an infraction.

By an unaffiliated 3rd party for a reason that didn't have anything to do with attending Alabama.
What's wrong with you people?

So you're saying that Bama cheated.

I don’t think you’re getting any bites with this Reggie Bush thing

Define "blatant rule breaking" as it relates to this situation and the University of Alabama as an institution
well that would require more information and investigation. Define "strong arse offer", with specificity and providing conclusive evidence, as it pertains to Will Wade. This isn't where I'm asking you to view the two situations with two differing standards of proof.
All people are telling you is there are exceptions to the 4 year SOL that could potentially apply in this situation. That is an objectively true statement. No one is saying they definitely do apply here only that they could potentially apply. Paying players is a pretty clear exception stated within the NCAA's own bylaws regarding the SOL.

Maybe you don’t, idk.

They havent addressed that yet? I thought I read that he was a financial advisor and was using payments to secure future services if the athlete makes it to the NFL.
I read that. But also saw where he was paying kids to stay school longer. If he's paying them to get them to sign with him later, then yeah, the schools listed during testimony should be fine. If a booster is using Blazer to keep a kid in school longer then that is problem.

Like i said, nothing will happen. But saying “well we didn’t know about it” doesn’t work with the NCAA if they are on their period

This sounds similar to the Chuck Persons scheme. Paying players families $$ to steer them to an agent when they leave the school.
quote:The question is, who was the insider on the Bama staff that helped his guy get in contact with the players family/friends and who funneled the money to whom?
Yep, very similar to that scheme and the Reggie Bush scheme

Chuck Persons was the insider at AU, he "educated" the parents on how the scheme worked and instructed the parents (also AU alum) to not say a word or discuss the plan. AU also terminated 2 more coaches on that staff and obviously the NCAA had AU bench the "active" players for a full season.

Reggie Bush's investigation began well within the Statute of Limitations, FWIW.

With Slick Willie (praise his name) sliding thru their fingers recently, I suspect the NCAA is flat out OTR.

Auburn had their two basketball players Suspended for a year plus due to the chuck person scandal.
It seems like schools are better off if they give a big middle finger if the NCAA wants to sniff around.

Alabama players stagger their Chargers in the parking lot to not raise any suspicion.
