How many of them drop out to become "brand managers"?
Very few. Most of them never go to college and only show up when the player in question signs a big pro contract.
Is this jackass even being paid? Or is he just doing it for free as an investment?

What's incredible is that his family is already rich, and he will be an NFL QB in a year. Doesn't make sense that he would to something so naive.
Something also incredible is that this is minor compared to every star Alabama player driving around in detailed Chargers that have their names on the license plates. Something done out in the open like that doesn't get caught, but Manziel's small, hidden dealings get huge news. Strange.
(For the record, I believe that pretty much every major program pays their players in some way or another. It's ignorant to think otherwise.)

How many "rich" people with no sense of decorum have you seen turn down ANY opportunity to make money?

Doubtful. Who is gonna want a locker room cancer on their team who style of playing wont translate to the next level?

Doubt the NCAA even cares. If you can have an improper benefit from getting a ride from someone, I highly doubt they are very narrow about what constitutes employment. Especially if uncle Nate is calling himself an assistant.

NYC Auburn, no doubt he signed autographs. That is not a problem, and I'm sure he does it all the time.
He signs stacks of autographs for one person in a hotel room all the time

In the past, JFF has demonstrated that he knows something about NCAA compliance when defending previous photos of him gambling, or attending sporting events, etc. It doesn't add up to me that he would ignore that in January
he hasn't demonstrated that much, and just knowing something is wrong doesn't mean you wont do it. signed almost every criminal.

I see someone RA'd the Manziel Patriot Act/Finance thread I made. Thanks Al Queerda.
That's fine, I'll post the data here.
The Dept of Treasury will want to talk to Manziel. If he took $10K and and wasn't properly recorded/reported, it's a violation of The Patriot Act, Title III.
"through the creation of anti-money laundering programs and by better defining anti-money laundering strategy; and by making it a requirement that anyone who does business file a report for any coin and foreign currency receipts that are over US$10,000."
"Subtitle B also makes FinCEN a bureau of the United States Department of Treasury. The subtitle allows the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to authorize personnel to act as law enforcement officers"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_Act,_Title_III,_Subtitle_B
After the Treasury Dept does their investigation for Manziel's violation of the Patriot Act, the IRS will come knocking. This could take up to a year though and they might see if he claims it as income on his 2013 return.

Just because your family is well off doesn't mean you can call and ask for $10k...$50k...$100k.
My family is well off but I would've been told hell no if I called and asked for anything over $1000 while in college.

Unlike the NCAA they could actually subpoena information.

It appeared to me that JFF had an idea of what was allowed and what wasn't in the past.
Does it seem logical that he would agree to a blatant violation now?

We are talking about getting a larger sum of money for doing almost nothing. yes it seems very plausible. him knowing it was wrong means nothing

I'm sure they can find some secret terrorist code and look at bank records before then.

Well he seems smarter than that to me, but thanks for your input.
