Do I believe a good core of Aggies have BAS and are unhealthfully obsessed with UT? Um yeah.
It may make you want to 'hiss' in anger, but it is what it is. I feel for the 2 percenters.
Note: this is not a newfound conclusion. I have worked in texas for 15 years and it was painfully clear right away. Survey your non aggie or non UT water cooler friends and you will not like the results.

Agreed, then why are you arguing about 'now'. The whole point was after one 3rd in the West finish you guys were claiming some perennial contender status. Can you get there? I think so eventually. Is it premature to conclude that now? Obviously.

The times are a changing... We will always have a history with the tsips but until we start playing them again reguarly (which I would love to do) there is so real obsession with them anymore. We ran away from home and have moved on to bigger and better things (SEC) its not nearly as bad as outsiders think.
Of course 99% of Aggies still hate TU... its our tradition, our rivalry, but I am much more looking forward to being able to get as pumped for LSU/Bama games as we did for TU games.

I still think we are a contender this year. The people we lost on the defensive side of the ball were not as detremental as some believe. We have young talent with huge upside filling those roles I think we will be competitive in every game we play this year.

Logic at its best. I respect A&M, but win a title if you want to be viewed like title winners. And even though you guys are doing alot of great recruiting, which may pay off, so was auburn after Cam and nothing has yet to come of it. It's all theory until proven on the field, basically.

Wait what? You lost quite possibly the most dynamic game changer in the country on the defensive side of the ball. You had absolutely zero depth and were remarkably lucky on the injury front. Lose a few starters and well... we all saw the LA tech game.
You are a few years away on defense with the young talent...

How would you view us if you didnt beat us last year (JFF worst game ever played *because of great defense*)
What would you say about us this year had we gone 11-1 with our only lose being to Florida week 1. which means we would have played the SECCG.
I know this is hypothetical, but just remember we lost by 5 with 2 very makeable FG's and a missed PAT.
LSU was the best team on the field that day I am not disputing that.
Just saying hypothetically if we won what kind of tune would you be singing?

Yeah that was this thread a bit ago... It wasnt we were upset. We just had to explain that Aggy and Aggie are completely different. Aggy is more derogitory. Only thing i can compare it to would be the too spellings of the word nig***
and it is probably the best one at getting under our skin. But its not a huge deal.

In the SEC a missed play can make the difference. A&M was a contender last year as was LSU. A&M was a couple of field goals form winning it all. That is a contender. LSU was a defensive stand from winning it all - that is a contender.
It looks like A&M may be a contender again. Depends on the D.
A&M's plans were to be a contender in 2015-2016 but it has been escalated due to JFF.
If A&M is a contender again then they are 2 for 2 being a contender. The conference ranking crap is a red hearing. LSU lost to Clemson and ranked below A&M - but that doesn't mean LSU wasn't a contender.
The ignorant love to argue about stupid crap.
Third is the west is one play from a Natty. So who gives a shite.

I predict the opposite. I think he runs for a bazillion yards. If you go back and watch A&M games - as an A&M fan - there are so many times you say - damn, I wish JFF just kept it and took off.

My point was you haven't made it until you have made it, which is a recent enough transition for LSU that you should be able to remember that new teams sometimes get added to the elite club.
