In a perfect world, JFF plays, gets humiliated at home by Bama (possibly starts drinking at halftime and never really stops), TAMU loses by double digits, goes on to lead TAMU to a 11-1 regular season record, then the NCAA hammers them and makes them forfeit their wins for the season. JFF says frick y'all, goes pro, gets drafted in the fourth round and has a Tebowesque career for a few years before getting kicked to the curb. Daddy sues the NFL because they have all the resources in the world.

But I haven't really given it that much thought

Im going to go out on a limb here and say you were one of those kids in college (if you actually went to college) that your roommate asked you to sit out side playing Warcraft while he got laid.

Your post is oozing with jealousy. The kid is just that a kid! have you ever partied in college? Have you ever made bad decisions? maybe/ maybe not. But the fact that you wish ill on an entire football program because of one douchebag college kid having fun... That is just sad. very sad.

So you are mad at him for taking advantage of a situation he was presented with? That would be like asking a millonaire to stop making so much money because there is a man working at McDonalds that could use it more than you...

in that scenario is that millionaire breaking any rules? i don't think so.

i didn't say he had but in your scenario you're the one comparing him to a millionaire making money thus aren't you assuming in that scenario that jff took money? if not, your blurb made no sense whatsoever.

The point he made was basically a "the rich getting richer, while the poor cant do anything about it"

which is bullshite... Not JFF fault that he comes from money AND is an exceptional athlete. One that apparently every broker known to man (purposeful exaggeration) wants his autograph.

He was probably the underprivledged kid that worked his arse off and didnt get the spotlight. So now hes attacking a succesful college kid. Pathetic really...

But he's not all those things. He is a COLLEGE football player. If he's to get paid then he should be in the pros. Yes I do expect him to not take advantage of the situation. I expect him(and any other player) to follow the rules. When he follows the rules, that puts him on the same playing surface as the kid who doesn't take the money, and that is the way that it is supposed to be. I don't think that I am that naive, I just believe in what's right. Why should we change the whole scheme of college football just because of some egotistical, over priviledged, selfish 20 year old kid?

After giving much thought I think Johnny will play the entirety of this season.

Worst case scenario they give him the Reggie Bush treatment.

This is my speculation.

You do realize that they do not have to prove that JFF received money, just that Nate did or that he knew he was signing those in bulk for the financial benefit of a legitimate company not an individual.

Now if they can show he personally received the $$ it is actually less of an issue for A&M because then it would be a JFF issue only, not A&M allowing someone who classifies as a rogue agent active within the A&M locker room.

If this happens, then the school is punished for what he did, and I hate when that happens, because it hurts the school, the fans, and those players that had nothing to do with it. All the while Little Johnny is off living the big life.
Oh well, I'm just not going worry about this, because I have my beliefs and others have theirs, and that's how the world works. I had fun in college, but my fun did not directly effect my school.

Considering the lack of teeth the NCAA has shown in recent investigations everyone thought was going somewhere (Cam, Oregon, Miami), you only get hammered if your coach's ex-assistant is into pedophilia.

Outside of JFF video tape of a money-exchange with the audio saying "Here's the money for your autographs", I'm certain nothing will come of this.

This is the SEC... where only championship and what happens ON THE FIELD matter. Are you saying he is on a different playing field, or has some sort of advantage for POSSIBLY recieving money for his Sig?

You are making my point for me... hes a selfish 20 year old kid. Spoiled silver spoon fed brat. and hes in college hanging with celebrities. Id say the kid is living the life that everyone reading this post wish they would have been at age 20.

I never lived the life at any age where I wanted to hang with celebrities. Unless Heidi Klum counts and hanging with her is not what I would want to do to her,

The craziest thing is this was institutional cheating on a recruiting level, which is the worst thing you can do. It is one thing for players to be treated like kings once they get here, but if you're actively paying the scum of the earth to funnel players to your program(and in the case of Bralon Addison's last second switch, I have heard from some pretty reliable sources he was just flat out paid) I can't see how they got off with so little punishment.

Gotta defend Willie Lyles here.

If only because he direct messaged me on twitter and said he "laughed his arse off" at the LSU-ORE gif I made of him running away with the money. For being a good sport, I give him a lifetime pass:

Mississippi State said the athlete (defensive back Will Redmond) has been reinstated after paying back $2,660 in benefits, forfeiting a year of eligibility and being withheld from the first five games of the 2013 season.

The NCAA let MSU off light, but the player was punished. IF it is proven Johnny took money, he should be penalized. Probable for the Bama game setting up a BCSNC game TAMU vs BAMA

Manziel's situation is a bit unique from what we usually deal with in the SEC - most of the rumors and issues surround the recruitment of players.

This is closer to the OSU issue; however, once again the penalties for the school would only be significant if
A.) He's guilty *AND*
B.) A&M covered up

I seriously doubt A&M is covering this up.

Honestly, I doubt anything comes of it and is likely a non-issue throughout the year. It is up to A&M if they want to take the chance of playing a potentially ineligible player or not.
