Herbie was 1000% correct. More "regulations" won't stop any thing, let alone this. There just has to be some consistent punishment for rule violations. And don't forget, the NCAA requires both the university & athlete to sign a contract agreeing to abide by the rules of an organization they both voluntarily joined. And yea, right, the poor kid with only one parent, if he is lucky, coming from a pathetic educational system, will stop & think " damn, if I'm not good enough, I cann't sell my name"??

You miss the point.
If he plays hardball , and doesn't admit , what is obvious , the the NCAA can bych slap him with this rule.

The school has rights here too. But that doesn't preclude the individual rights. The NFL has something similar. If I sell merchandise that has Tom Brady in a Pats uniform, I need to pay them both a licensing fee. I don't get to just pay the Pats which is how the NCAA does it.
I think the NCAA attempt to permanently exclude athletes from that is disgraceful. FFS, Desmond Howard is being sued for commercially using a picture of himself.

also, Aggie coworker just came by to admit defeat.
said he knows someone on the medical staff there who txt him that A&M's freshman got the majority of the snaps today in practice.
he's a diehard Aggie, impossible to argue with, like many here, and he was pretty depressed.
but, i'm sure you all will take this as bullshite. i don't care.

A&M was #5 in both the final AP and Coaches poll, you know, the only poll all season that actually matters
