As the jar cracks - Johnny Manziel's downfall is upon us

So he's a rich 20 year old being a 20 year old. I hate spoiled rich kids, I grew up all around them, and not being wealthy made me sort of hate them, but they weren't bad people, just a product of their environment.
You could be on to something. The fact that Manziel blew off his reponsibility to supervise a bunch of jr. high and high school players may be a reflection on the lack of supervision he's had from his parents, his coaches, etc.

what is the old saying, "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink." Maybe he has had some positive influence in his life but he has chosen to ignore it.

Everyone lawyered up. If no one is willing to talk to the NCAA or provide evidence, nothing will happen.
If they do, I assume the lawyers will attack it and show why it's all lies and circumstantial.
There are some guys sitting on some mined data(it was a fairly large organized effort)that they will probably release that will implicate A LOT of top athletes, that will almost assuredly create a shitstorm and muddy up the waters to take heat of Johnny.
Then there is the NCAA selling jerseys(a JFF jersey included)red herring and the whole hypocrite angle and the current case they have going on.
Public opinion of the NCAA is really bad right now, and this isn't a good time for them to be able to just do whatever they want.
Unless someone comes forward with something concrete, the NCAA isn't in a very good position on this. It will probably just sit like it is.
As of right now, unless something new is released, it looks like Teflon Johnny avoided the sack again.

Do I believe he signed for money? I honestly don't care unless he gets caught. Let's play football!
As for the two defensive backs that might be suspended, hopefully we let the team decide whether they miss any games or not.
Is Texas A&M SEC enough now?
SEC SEC SEC

I think he certainly has had a very laissez faire upbringing. It seems like His dad tries to be like a cool older brother instead of dad.

Even if there is no proof that he signed for money, what about that he signed items designated for resale, and lied about it to A&M? How big of a deal is that?

From what he typed, apparently it's not. Shocking right?

That would be a question for the lawyers.
I realize a lot of people want this kid to not get away, but typing your good arguments here(and they ARE valid arguments)isn't in play.

ESPN backing off their fecal fabrications because they have zero actual evidence. Kind of like the sleazy smear job they did on the Saints.
Johnny is practicing and is expected to start on August 31.

It's not a matter of him being a 20 yr old college kid who parties hard. The major issue for me is that he apparently threw his teammates under the bus for the cost of new rims for his fancy parents-paid-for-car. That speaks to complete selfishness & arrogance on his part. He took a lot of money for his personal services & that may cost his teammates a chance at a big season. That is the issue.

A photograph of the stock rims on his car has already been posted. There are no custom rims!
Do you propose to have a Heisman Trophy winner give up his season based on a rumor from a sleazy ex-con autograph dealer who refuses to come forward and speak?
This is America where a lot of people have given their lives to ensure that we are considered innocent until we have had the opportunity to face our accusers and see what actual evidence they have.
BTW up until 3 days ago the NCAA was selling autographed Manziel jersy's. Talk about hypocrisy!

Wait so he's selfish and arrogant because his family has more money than God, and they spend/give it freely.
But, you think he needs to sign autographs for money for himself? They bought him an AMG, and you don't think he could have gotten rims? That's not even his only vehicle.
I'd say unclenatefitch is who got paid. I think Johnny is a good friend, and very short sighted, easily manipulated, and not very bright. His arrest was for having a friends back who was drunk and being an a hole. Makes poor decisions for sure.

Exactly. Johnny's parents might be willing to buy him everything but they probably don't extend that courtesy to all his dipshit friends.

But but but, I thought Aggies don't lie, cheat, or steal. Nor tolerate those who do?
I guess that doesn't apply if we're talking about your star Quarterback.

Even if Manziel sold autograph's which we don't have proof of,
SELLING YOUR AUTOGRAPH FOR MONEY IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A VIOLATION OF THE AGGIE CODE OF HONOR.
Selling your autograph is a violation of an NCAA rule.
Just like an NFL player that doesn't wear the correct socks violates an NFL rule.
Selling your autograph gives you no competitive advantage once the ball is kicked.
This is not the same as juicing steroids to obtain an unfair competitive advantage.

Don't you wish MSU DB's were as fast as that ex-con autograph dealer!
I understand your agenda. I was at the Starkville game when the Dawgs started trickling out at half time.
That was the last "Snow Bowl" we'll ever see!
