as far as I know, you have to actually get the person on tape saying its ok to tape.

and there's nothing saying it was a "secret" taping either.

Schad himself said what he saw was secretly taped

If the taping wasn't secret, JFF is the dumbest kid alive

The Cam situation had conspiracies of corruption going all the way to the top that would cause the school to no longer be a functioning institution. It had it all-casinos, treated lumber, corrupt reverends-Manziel is small potatoes comparatively

At this point, if nothing happens to Manziel, I predict the biggest meltdown in rant history. As a lurker back in the day, I don't remember this many people counting their chickens before Cam got off. This site is going to crash when the NCAA calls "mercy"

On top of the dumb stuff that Manziel has actually done and will continue to do, every con man in the country is going to come up with a fish story to sell to the media. This is a fine circus and I hope it continues.

To compare this to the Cam saga is silliness

Not shocking. It's illegal to gamble in the great state of Alabama

the fact that it would kill JFFs career at A&M doesnt change that ESPN buying this video wouldnt be any different than a news outlet buying video of a police shooting or something else salacious.

My point is that ESPN wants to keep the image of being as unbiased as possible (no matter how untrue it is). Why would they jump to buy something like this that would wreak so much havoc and make them look like the instigators, when they can get the story anyway (Schad) and just wait for the video to come out. (Which it obviously will since he's shopping it)

Of course it's true. It's just nice to have fans of other teams agree

It really is. For starters, there's no flow charts in this thread...or that silly damn dog.

ETA: What was that poster's name? He had the hound in his avi and always said "god not be mocked"

I haven't been keeping up with this as well as I should be. What's the deal with the video and the broker saying he paid Manziel?

Santa, another broker came out of the woodwork today. He claimed that on January 11-12 of this year, he payed Johnny $7,500 to sign 300 items at the Walter-Camp deal in Connecticut.

He took 2 cell phone videos of Johnny signing stuff, and Joe Schad watched the videos. It was about 9 minutes worth total, and allegedly Johnny Hancock didn't know he was being filmed. (This is illegal in Connecticut.) Johnny was heard on the video clearly telling the broker "I never did an autograph session with you, and if you tell anyone I"ll never do it again." or something to that affect. Then the broker asked if Johnny would do personalized inscriptions for extra cash, and he said no, I've done that in the past and it causes questions.

The broker offered to sell the tape to ESPN, and Schad watched it but didn't purchase the videos. Broker says he doesn't intend to cooperate with the NCAA.

you may be correct but not buying it just gives Paul Manziel or some other A&M booster the chance to go get it themselves.

I don't agree with a lot of things people have said about him but I do think he is the type that will do damn near anything to protect his kid.

If I was that broker I'd be hiding in a hotel right now.
