I dunno, man. I'm starting to think that Uncle Nate will be the wildcard in all of this.
You Aggies had better not hope TMZ doesn't get their hooks into Uncle Nate, because I think he'd sing the most beautiful siren song the old Big 12 has ever heard.

all depends if he kept records of all of the money flying around

This. Times a million. I think that Uncle Nate having any contact with Johnny or his family come September is a very long shot.

Great lineup! Kinda leaves you speechless, doesn't it?

If he sits out this year he'll almost certainly be back next year along with 2 Sumlin recruiting classes, and '14 is when A&M will be stacked.
Dude.....what are you smoking? There is no circumstance he will be back in '14, have you not been paying attention to this guy? He is a complete and utter disaster. Even if you have a sliver of hope the guy for some reason wants to come back (which he doesn't) you think he can keep himself out of trouble for a whole year? The kid has been averaging a negative headline/ month, cut his responsibilities and structure, no telling what him and uncle nate will get into.

Well, the problem is that the NCAA isn't held to the same standard of proof that our wondrous legal system is.
As for that douchenozzle who was in here earlier talking about how this was all a tsip/Bammer/REC plot, it obviously isn't. If it were, the autograph broker(s) would have already started singing, and this one would be in the books by now and Johnny would be back down the road from whence he came.
The fact that the brokers aren't saying anything is a good thing for TAMU. While it doesn't necessarily mean that nothing will come of it (I'm still not convinced one way or the other this early in the reporting), it does pretty much guarantee that black helicopters aren't back and forth to B/CS from Tuscaloosa and Austin.

Yeah. Him coming back in 2014 is probably the longest shot in all of this. I think that, once all is said and done, the rift between the Manziels and A&M will be irreparable.
Besides, this guy is getting to the point where he doesn't even seem worth the trouble.

If they're going to I hope they do it very soon. We don't need this crap throughout the season, and we sure don't need any retroactive game forfeitures, etc.

His "negative" headlines really haven't been that bad, if you get down to brass tacks. He's stupid, but not felonious. The worst trouble he's really gotten into is partying too hard and not being ashamed to let everyone know. Folks like you act like he's killed someone.

Your lips to God's ears. This needs to be settled one way or the other before the first game kicks off.

would they really give out a lengthy suspension based off of hearsay? wouldnt it be easy to appeal that shite if they had no real physical evidence against him? thats my point. until there is actual legit evidence the he either took money from the brokers or nate, i dont know what the NCAA can do
i mean he obviously did it, but i just dont know how far the NCAA can take this without actual proof. but maybe im wrong

Good riddance to the Manziels if it comes to that.

It's gotta be very tiring for those close to the program. JFF's constant spotlight-grabbing takes away headlines from the larger story of a program trying to claw its way back from mediocrity.

If he's suspended for the year? What then? His NFL draft stock will drop like a rock. Why not come back?
Not saying that's my preferred outcome, but I can see it happening.

My reasoning behind thinking he won't be back has nothing to do with his extracurricular activities, and EVERYTHING to do with the rift which seems to be growing between his family and A&M.
There seems to be some very hard (even if misplaced) feelings. I don't think any of them are mature enough to butch up and DWI.

I mean, imagine how Kevin Sumlin must feel right now. This kid has got to be a migraine a minute for him. He's trying to run a Division 1 football program (a tough enough job as it is,) not babysit rich kids, their immature families, and their pissant personal assistants.

No, but at some point the guy becomes more trouble than he's worth. At least most stars are able to keep their stupidity under wraps, trouble seems to follow this guy around in the public eye. After reading the Sports Illustrated article it also seems like A&M will be growing tired of the families BS.

Like Tyrann Matthieus stock dropped like a rock? Maybe he drops a round or two, but lets not kid ourselves here. The guy, nor his family want to be at A&M(I'm sure the staff there will be happy to see him go as well). Seemed pretty clear to me in the SI article.

This guy almost makes me want to find AJ, shake his hand, and tell him how much I appreciate his focus.
If JFF were at Alabama, there wouldn't be enough Maalox in the fricking drugstore for me.

Agree. The tone of that ESPN The Magazine article was very revealing, and couldn't have gone over well with the powers-that-be at A&M, either. Especially considering that the school seemed to do everything it could to try and mitigate the negative effects of his inelucable popularity boom without coming down hard and being too restrictive. And the family still has sour grapes.
I love JFF as a player, but that's it. Will be glad when his drama leaves with him for the NFL and the focus in Aggieland can return to just football.
