The motivation for him to sign some autographs for a few bucks is negated by the fact that his family is loaded. Only other way this could shake out is that it was all a setup and he merely signed some photos thinking it was for charity, maybe the military moral angle, who knows. But, it certainly wasn't for money, he has plenty of that.

I can think of at least two reasons: 1) He wanted to pay off Nate for his long and faithful and really stupid service, or 2) His bankroll isn't what you think it is, dad controls the pursestrings a bit tighter than you imagine, and he wanted extra cash to throw away in Miami. Or 3) something I haven't thought of.
In any case, why resort to a conspiracy theory? It makes no sense. Nobody made Johnny Manziel go to the residence of a memorabilia dealer and sign up to 1000 autographs. And there's no reason he'd do that while bitching about autographs unless he thought he'd be paid. To me he's plainly guilty, though my guess is he'll get away with it, and all these assholes on these forums talking about A&M being the most corrupt school of all time will have one more bullet.
