Pio don’t get mad at me since I share the love of basketball with you. However, as a neutral observer on this one, the Arkansas posters were talking a decent amount of trash to KY when they “stole” Cal and some recruits.
As a person with no dog in this fight, it seems the KY fans should get at least 1 year of “tit for tat” posting if KY ends up better than Arky this year. Arky expected to best KY at least this year and they made that loud and clear.

I don’t remember that, provide some links to it.
Both sides were happy when it happened and were complimentary of one another. But if you are talking about the trolls who take over for both sides then that’s a different story. We are still being attacked by them but the rant is what it is.

I just remember thinking that it was interesting that Arky fans were celebrating and taking shots at KY for not having a team (coach or players) while boasting about their 6mil NIL availability for Cal, and KY fans being happy and trying to warn Arky about what they just got themselves into. That was the lasting impression I got from the posting in the month after it happened.

Arkansas didnt have a team first. Your time table is off. When cal was at the press conference he said he met with the team and there was no team.

And similar to the teams muss had that made tournament runs, only better talent overall.
I’ve never been a cal fan, but I’m pulling for this team. It’s not these kid’s fault people hate cal.

lol…you can hate the facts, but they’ll still be the facts. I said the month after. Cal went to work pretty quickly and remind me how long after a coach leaves a player has to enter the portal…oh, that’s right, it’s a month. KY didn’t have a team.
Funny how it’s only the Arkansas fans that remember things differently. Haven’t heard any one else say it didn’t happen, except Arkansas fans. But “they demand proof.” You’re the one doubting it happened, go look it up. Its not worth my time.

No pio! He's a Petit Jean ham welcher... However, what I remember more than anything was KY fans laughing, making fun of us for freeing them from the huge buyout. Talking about how bad Cal would be and of course, some of us reacted/over-reacted. I believe that is how it all started.
One game does not make a season, as Muss lost more than he should have against SEC comp... but went higher in march madness that any for the biggest period of his tenure. I am just glad to see a team Gel more as the season progresses... For once..

Yeah, but the shirtless wonder was a great Tournament coach. Cal, on the other hand, has been one of the worst tournament coaches over the past decade.
I was at the F4 in NO when he won his championship with KY and I was at the F4 when he lost as an 8 seed to a 7 seeded UConn in the 2014 NC. So I’ve seen Cal in his prime. But since that 2014 surprise run, he’s been one of the worst tournament coaches (especially the last 5 years). Maybe he turns that around at Arky, but I wouldn’t count on it.

I’m just going to watch how the season turns out. Good for you for knowing the future, that must suck…..

waits for proof and won't post proof. The very first post when the news broke that ark hired cal was from a kentucky fan.

Not much. Had friends in NO and family in Dallas, so put in for tickets and won them both years. Was rooting for KY in NO for SEC and FL in Dallas (along with Wis since I lived there a few years as a kid). Only time I really cared who won the F4 was when I was in Phoenix last year.

Predictions based on trends aren’t 100% accurate. Should be a fun season, and I will be a significant fan of Cal’s when he plays AU, Tenn, and ironically, KY this year. Hopefully he wins a couple of those.

Correct, but Cal started building rather quickly IIRC, starting with his previous recruits/roster. Arky had a coach prior to KY, and KY had to go through a few coaches taking their names out of the hat (Hurley, Oats, Scott Drew) for a few days before settling on Pope.

I never said anything about Arky losing…I was rooting for them against Mich the entire game. Switched channels to Illinois/Wiscy once the lead got to 18 and was shocked when I flipped back and the lead was down to 2. Was glad to see them hold on, but it’s vintage Cal to not have enough offensive play calls to stop an 18 point lead collapsing in about 10 minutes. Was a good win for Arky and the SEC is very, very strong this year! Will be rooting for the Hogs at least 3 more times this year, FWIW
