9. He's nearly the perfect coach to rebuild us. I think other coaches we could have hired needed to inherit a loaded roster to be successful.

Why would you say this when he's never rebuilt a team? He inherited a successful Wiscy program from Barry Alvarez.

Read the next sentence to find your answer.

He's starting on the lines and building the team outward, our Oline is going to be ridiculous.

I've never seen Oline recruiting like he has done the last two years here.

3/ 10. We will have a decent OL and running game, have some 8 or 9 win seasons, but we will never compete at the top tier like we did under my boy Bobby Petrino. Hopefully one day we get him back like Louisville did.

Sorry if I prefer going 10 - 3 and 11 - 2 to going 3 - 9 and being the laughing stock of the SEC.

Petrino won 5 games his first season with much more talent than Bret has at his disposal.

Petrino needed a last minute score to beat FCS member Western Illinois. Petrino needed trickery on fourth down to beat ULM in the final moments. Petrino lost to Sylvester Croom.

Yeah but he actually won those and the team progressed. BB had the Miss ST game in hand until the dumbass fake punt. He also had not a clue against Florida who was terrible and choked against Rutgers. I think BB is a solid coach who will build a fundamnetally sound team. In the SEC though that gets you seasons between 6 - 6 and 9 - 3 and that's it.

How did that Petrino team progress? Because they beat a bad LSU team to close out the year?

Let's not forget that Petrino lost to a very bad Mississippi St team in year one as well.

Petrino is a great offensive coach and if he wants to, could build a successful program anywhere. Problem is, he got his contract, he got comfortable, got lazy and didn't give a frick about recruiting. Now we're paying for it.

Look, I hope I'm wrong and BB takes us to the promised land. I just don't see it though because he runs a conventional system and is an average play caller who is recruiting classes that are in the bottom third of the SEC. I just don't see how that adds up to us being a top tier team. Petrino might be the best playcaller in college football, at least we had a fighters chance.
