UGA is only ranked about 30 spots higher than Mizzou. And no, Mizzou being an AAU member does not make them better academically.

I hired two Harvard grads for consultant jobs at the CDC and both were idiots that we eventually had to fire. Their team members from lowly public institutions ran circles around them.

The hard truth is that once you leave your region your state schools academic ranking doesn't matter much. I don't know many hirirng managers that I worked with in Atlanta that would care one way or the other if a candidate had a degree from Arkansas or A&M.

Once again Cheshire weighs in with simple truth.

K cool dude. Um yea, you are definitely underestimating the Aggie network. I didn't get my job through it but I am well aware of it. Yea, those 300 class size lectures are for basic classes like History and Political Science. Obviously, once you get past those and get to your actual classes that are related to your major, then profs actually know everyone's name in the class.

Your degree is what you make of it, but regardless, Texas A&M is a better academic institution than the University of Arkansas in all phases.

You are a good wife

Mine's pretty cool about sports, all things considered. Always buying me sports paraphernalia and trying to learn about the different intricacies of each pastime. I married well

And I'm a fan of Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson

No other schools have networks?

Some people love that huge school atmosphere. I'm not one of them. My biggest class at Arkansas was around 100 people if I remember correctly (music lecture or something like that). Almost all of my classes were less than 30, from start to finish.

What good is it to boast about being "a better academic institution" when we just agreed that you're only as good as what you make of it?

The class sizes at A&M are typically 50 or less after sophomore year or whenever you finish your general requirements. Some majors have really small classes. But I'm of the mind that you can get a great education at any SEC school if you put in the effort, so I only partake in these discussions when I really feel like flaming someone

Exactly.

frick. You can get a better education at the library than you can at Harvard if you study enough.

That is great growth for a decade for any school. And if they're getting smarter students and growing, that's how you do it. I honestly thought it was larger all this time. Arkansas does have good, loud fans.

Horse shite numbers made up from horse shite scholarship lottery for jobs that do not exist. Take away the 12000 thousand students who received that money and deduct the 70-80 percent that fail out or do not get to keep that bull chit scholar lotto crap then you have a net gain of 2-3 thousand students putting enrollment right where it should be in the 13-15 grand range.

Do not let the great University of Arkansas fool you, they may have crap roads but they can throw all that money away on bull crap scholarships which are not worth the paper they are written on. The money would be better served for road construction.

The Lottery is the best thing to happen to Arkansas kids. We just need to allow Casinos and we will be in the 21st century. Who cares if they fail out they'll have to go back eventually because undergrad is the new high school.

IF the medical Mary Jane passes I will be shocked!

How long do you think it will be before Arky takes over MIT, Stanford, etc. for the top spot in the US for greatness?

I do not know if you know how Arkansas works. All most all jobs here are hook ups and who you knows. I have had some good jobs here but it comes from out of state companies looking for a local person and they hire off qualifications not the good ole boy system. This is not Texas nor even Tennessee. Arkansas does not have enough corporations and companies here to support 20+ thousand college graduates a year coming from its flagship school.

That is unless of course you think auto mechanics, bar tenders and waiters/ waitresses need college degrees. Oh wait, a lot of them already do.

Arkansas has more F500 companies than Alabama and Louisiana.
