It is nice that Arkansas has given up on trying to win the king of SEC sports, football, and moved on to trying to win the lesser sports. Congrats......

I’d toss in 3 of them max. We’d still be above everyone at this point and have the football title. I won’t claim to watch every sport all the time, but for example I’d just as soon watch basketball or baseball as football myself. Well actually I prefer the other two over football but I still do like the foot of ballness too. Maybe it’s because I’m middle aged but I’m gonna like what I legit like and the street cred of our sec brethren isn’t that important to me.

Truthfully I think it is great Arkansas wins so many titles in track and Field. They have and have had a great program for decades.

I always kind of assumed it was because I played both of them- well softball and I had two older brothers. My mom used to say I grew up at the ballfields as I spent every summer from age a few months til I was 18 there. I love the smell of the grass and dirt as much as anyone.

Well we ended up having a better basketball season than Bama. Elite 8 > Anything in regular season.

I don't understand why more programs don't take athletics more seriously. Hard to imagine being a University with 1 or maybe 2 titles a year. And 0? Who could possibly manage that? Seems harder to get none than 9.

No. The vision of Frank Broyles was for Arkansas to be good in the three major sports. Arkansas in the past has been won the SWC in football, a final four and a CWS appearance. It doesn't happen very often but it can be done.
Then it eventually over the years it trickles down to other non revenue sports.
I wouldn't trade it to be a one sport program. Why do that when you can have success all year round?
