torch Arky's DBs. The problem is that our OL might not be able to keep Max upright long enough to get the ball to them.
We weren't getting beat deep. We were getting beat by short, quick passes and missed tackles.

I mean, we had 8 sacks... The game would've been a bit different if we didn't turn the ball over 3 times, which is uncharacteristic of us. 1 fumble into the endzone and another in the red zone. Also held them to 52 yards rushing. Our problem last week wasn't pass rush, it was missed tackles.
That’s fair. So Missouri State has a quick passing game and was able to torch Arkansas’ difficulty with open field tackling.

21-16 going into the 4th QT

Apparently the Arky pass rush is ELITE according to some hog posters here.
BS...prove it. Not even the ALTs are saying that.
What we've said is getting back one of two starting safeties should improve the secondary (it's hard not to when you're last) and A&M has been anemic through the air. Both are true.

Yep. Go back and watch the highlights. I don’t recall them beating us deep at all. It was pretty much all YAC.
Same with South Carolina.

They didn't hit deep, but we got beat deep often.

Yes and no. Arkansas has been playing without both starting safeties, and our nickle back was also out. This led to a starting corner splitting time at safety depending on down, and then our other starting corner didn't play most of the 4th quarter.
One of the safeties returns; the corner that missed much of the 4th quarter, returns; the corner who had to play some snaps at safety, gets to go back to being a full time corner, and our nickle returns.
This is as close to full personnel as we will have had for the defensive backfield since the beginning of the season. Its still not healthy, but its much less a triage unit with shoulder pads.

This. Our secondary has been torched. The opposing QBs just can’t but wide open receivers behind the defense

Well, maybe that helps us then. If we can keep Max to 3-step drops, maybe we have a chance.

That QB was a starter at Utah and I think they won the PAC-12. He was a duel threat that was sacked eight times but I could tell that he was coached up by Petrino at 5-11 had 6-5 Drew Sanders in face, first down throw.

While the secondary has been arse, the front 7 have been much better at getting to the QB if a play is slow to develop.

Ok... I misread & was thinking secondary/ pass D, which is sorta arse.
Pass rush may not end up elite, but hard to say the overall sack leader isn't at least pretty damn good, if not elite up to this point.
How is that not elite?

Yeah I’m not even trying to argue or even talk down about it. I was just getting a feel for how Arky had improved.
I had seen where Miami was preseason top 10 DL though, so I was surprised.

A&M can’t gain 200 yards of offense. Has anyone watched us play. Hogs by 20.

Preseason polls are worth about as much as the toilet paper they're smeared on.

No. Could not exploit a homeless blind person shopping cart during Mardi Gra.

I'm hammering the over here, hit it at 48.
48 seems low. 9 of the last 11 games in this series has gone over 48.

A&M has had poor OL play. That’s the real issue. Our center had Mono and was out for the beginning of the year. But overall, this unit has been a disappointment.
