BTW Nolan's competitive teams won no less than 25 games and won at least 30 games 4 times from 89 to 95.

Speaking of strawman arguments...
You are including postseason games as victories here.

Mike has tied or bested Nolan's best season in regular season wins TWICE so far.

Again, not good enough apparently.

It's win it all or bust with Arkansas fans.

Because Anderson had his team in the 5 seed slot in year #4.
And then completely missed the tournament a year later.

Do they play the same number of games?

Come on Ed, I'm probably more on your side in all of this but still

The style of play lends itself to inconsistency. Yes. Because it relies on the team to feed off of energy that simply isn't always there.

You'll notice that Anderson's teams tend to hit a wall midway through the season, but then get their game turned back around by the end of the year.

His teams win a similar number of regular season games as Nolan's did.

The difference so far is performing in the post season.

Should have made a deep run last year. Hoping they get that corrected this year.

As I said, you're including post season victories.

It's literally the only difference in their records.

If Mike could make the postseason he'd have more, too. Ignore the loss counts, though.

Yeah that and the fact that Mike has double digit losses in every year but one while Nolan only did it once in 7 years. You're delusional.

No doubt he hasn't made the post season as many times. This year will be 3 of the last 4 though. And as I said earlier today, only an idiot would want to replace that.

I guess that makes you one of the idiots

Mike Anderson wins about 66% of his games.
Nolan Richardson won about 75% of his games.

Is Mike Anderson as good as Nolan Richardson? Not quite, but 66% is still a damn good number and his percentage is actually trending upward over the last 4 years.

It would be the most Arkansas thing ever to fire a guy who is pushing a 70% win percentage and trending in the direction of getting his team to the NCAAt every season.

it's more that lately there have been flashes of Mike and the team actually putting everything together and balling out on fools, then they turn around and act like they haven't practiced in 3 months

Problem is Mike can't get his teams to consistently execute.

you just described his teams at mizzou to a T. cant tell you how many times i watched an undisciplined mizzou team shoot themselves out of a game that they could have won if they just slowed the game down and played methodical in the half court, but it was like a foreign concept to MA.

Says the guy who says the only difference in their records is postseason play meanwhile Nolan's winning percentage was literally 10% higher (73%) at this point in his tenure.

Just remember that it's not Mike's fault, it's just an inconsistent style.

What's not his fault? The fact that Arkansas will be in their third NCAAt in four years this year?

That's damn good, dude. It could be a whole lot worse.
Look at LSU for example. They haven't been to that many tournaments in the last TEN frickING YEARS.

Mike Anderson is a damn good basketball coach

It makes you wonder if when they're actually playing smart if it's just blind luck. When the norm is your guard literally dribbling in place for 10-12 seconds, something's wrong.

In Nolan's day there were 25 regular season games.

Today there are 31 regular season games.

Please self ban yourself and your alters.

It's not damn good when you limp in as a middling seed and do nothing every other year with zero signs of putting it together. Glad you can hang on to the solace of "At least we aren't LSU.", though. God forbid we push for the level of excellence we know is possible within our program. Might as well settle for the same tournament performance of scrappy mid-majors, I guess.

As an aside I have no idea where you got this whole "protect Mike" stance from. I literally only disputed your statement that the style of play is inconsistent by bringing up Nolan's consistency with the same style. It's not the style. It's Mike Anderson coached teams.

Book marked. Not saying it won't happen but our remaining schedule and what we have seen so far shows this is not a given.

I'll just put a pin in it for now, but when this team reels off several wins in a row and everyone is high on the hogs heading into the tournament this season there's gonna be more than a few of our so-called "fans" around here that are gonna get put on blast. Believe that.
