Will you have kids with you? Just you?
HogTown will be just north of Lot 44 and the stadium on maple street with various food and drink vendors, a live band, giant tv, free face paint for kids, etc. Tusk V will be there too.
The hog walk usually starts about two hours and fifteen minutes before the game, where the players arrive by bus to HogTown and walk into the stadium. Cheerleaders, mascots, and band will be there. At that time and awhile afterwards the drum line puts on a show at the big 1964 hog statue outside the NE end zone at gate 14. Sometimes they hand out drum sticks, signed drum heads, etc., to kids.
Lots of tailgating going on around the Gardens, BWA, north and east of the stadium. We’re all mostly friendly and will share a beer with ya if you introduce yourself.

Wrights is ok but Arkansas has a lot of good BBQ places.
Whistlestop in Searcy was the best BBQ in the state until they sold. The new owners are still solid but it's not quite what it was.

Wrights BBQ is good for NWA but it certainly isn't the best BBQ in the state.
Arkansas has a lot of hole in the wall BBQ places, they just don't advertise like some other places do.
I know they have the mean pig in Cabot which has the shut me up sauce that made the host for man vs. food look like a strawberry.

Mean pig is pretty good. Especially for pulled pork.
Coursey's up in St. Joe, AR is damn good if you want to count it as bbq. They smoke all kinds of things, and their smoked bacon is the best bacon I've ever had.
They do almost zero advertising though.

Thanks. I had a book with me which I can't find at the moment had two chefs that took suggestions and traveled the nation for two years.
They have a top 10 BBQ places to eat and I think five are from Arkansas.

Brother- Whistle Stop is middle of the mall.
Really though, too many dudes get hard for talking best BBQ. It’s all pretty close to being the same with the best being only incrementally better.

It is just a matter of opinion but you can screw up BBQ and some places do it better than others. But if they are cooked right then the the taste isn't that different from another but some people have no taste at all.

I think you can still order to go but not go in. It hasn’t been the same since I was high school…easy drive from Stuttgart

Lot 44 is the pit. Lot 56 is just a parking lot with not a lot going on.
Also does anyone remember The Shack which was at Cantrell & Mississippi in Little Rock back in the 70’s? That was my favorite BBQ back then.

Arkansas may be the most underrated state for BBQ. We don't really have one signature style but it's kind of a blend between Memphis, St. Louis, and Texas.
This guy gets it. Have some good Carolina style too, in The Rock.

Every word you said is wrong.
Whistlestop started in a little building in Kensett, then moved into Searcy proper into the old Fisherman's Warf building on Beebe Capps. Then replaced Frozen D's on Benton.
There's not even a mall in Searcy, and Whistlestop has always been in a standalone building. That's my home town, homie. And WS was my favorite restaurant in it.
Perhaps more egregious though is that lie about BBQ. There's huge variance between BBQ quality. No excuses for that type of heresy - I'm going to need you to turn in your flair. Go root for some Yankee school where you belong.
