I know you guys made a really good hire in Mike Anderson, and most of you guys are VERY optomistic about basketball for the first time in a while. However, with that said, what are you guys' realistic expectations for Arkansas' first season under Mike Anderson.

I think you guys finish 22-10 (9-7) in the SEC and making the first round of the NCAA tournament.

They're the flagship.

I figure we compete for the west, but may not win it.

Early NCAA tourney exit.

Really? I think its a good year one. I dont really think Arkansas fans are expecting to win the SEC and make the Final 4 in year 1 under Mike Anderson.

I'm shocked to see roadgator among the first replies in an Arkansas thread!

I wouldn't call it obsessed, I think I'm more intrigued by you guy's love affair with Mike Anderson. Im anxious to see if some of you fans turn on him if he doesn't live up to expectations after year one.

I would be more than thrilled with just an appearance in the tourney. Year one after the mess we have seen for what feels like eternity, and we make it to the tourney is pretty damn good IMO.

I was sixth. And it was fairly neutral. And your hat is too big for your head.

Okay. I'm not flaming you...but I really would like to know your general age, b/c anyone who wants to know why hog fans have a love affair with MA, has to be VERY young and not around during Nolans years.

This is certainly where I think we are headed in Year 1. Some things could happen and we maybe do a little better than that. A lot will depend on if this incoming class lives up to its advanced billing. If the older guys buy into the system (and get into shape) and the new guys are as good as advertised, then we have a chance to be a bit better than what's mentioned above. One thing's for sure, we are going to be entertaining again. We'll be a team others don't like to play, which is refreshing.

Im remember Nolan Richardson's team beating Duke and losing to UCLA, but after 1995 I when I really started following college basketball I dont remember Arkansas being that great.

Im between 25-35 FWIW.

You have more posts than I do about arkansas basketball the past 3 months and that includes my updates on the coaching search. Obsession.

We had a damn good b/ball team not just those two years, though. Razorback basketball was EVERYTHING to Arkansans when MA was here. I can't explain it, I suppose. You have to be one of us, I suppose.

It's cool. I don't know jack shite of details/old coaches, etc.. with MSU b/ball.

1st or 2nd in the west, NCAA tourney appearance.. 22 to 25 wins is what I'm thinking.

A lot is going to depend on how the players respond to having a coach rather than a ginger.
