There is no arena debate, lets not start one. Verizon is a pretty decent arena. Still not as nice as Bud Walton. Downtown Little Rock / North Little Rock is nice.

We tend to shite the bed when we play down there in all sports, though.

Arkansas winning isn't an issue.

We had a 27 win basketball team last season. They still had to put the curtains up.

Though we lost this season to Toledo, we were a nationally ranked football team. Still didn't matter.

I think the lack of central arkansas players on the football team is the main issue. Little Rock doesn't put out the D1 football players they used to.

Basketball, I have no idea what the problem is. We have had Central Ark players and it doesn't seem to matter.

At this point, we are losing way too much money by playing in Little Rock.

Baseball games usually sell out, though.

Dudes, it's holiday shopping time and its freaking Mercer.

How many people would be there if the game was in Fayetteville? 7k?

Little Rock has their own team. UALR has dropped the Arkansas part of their name.

C. Ark is definitely creating a chism from the rest of the state. They're super pissed that all the attention goes to the NW part of the state now.

Silly things such as road funding get LR pushing funds away from NWA. A dwindling community gets $ to redo a 4 lane divided highway and I-40 gets completely new bridges and interchanges in C. Ark and Conway to LR is 6 lanes completely new...

Lots of jealousy.

In my perfect world the Hogs would still play in Pine Bluff, Hot Springs, LR etc.

I'd love to see these early games especially between semesters for games to be in El Dorado, Texarkana, Harrison, Conway, West Memphis. If the U of A wants to be the program of the state then play some games around the state and make an effort to connect to the feeder communities. This is doubly important for the non-revenue sports like soccer, golf, volleyball, tennis, cross-country etc.

How cool would it be to have a cross country race up Petit Jean Mountain or Mt. Magazine. A golf tournament at a Chenal course or a volleyball round up at LR Central or in Verizon featuring HS teams and some of the DII schools finishing w/ an Arkansas vs. another SEC school.

There's alot of things the Athletic Department could do to connect w/ fans across the state other than 1 football, 1 basketball, 1 baseball game a year.
