I'd say the Academics really became well known and more well rounded by the mid 90's, and enrollment started really blowing up by 2000.

All those things could also be said about UTa so it doesnt really dignify as a straight answer on what separated yall from them but i can see it was an honest answer so ill take it

You asked what pulled students in. Those are all reasons. It doesn't have to be specifically unique things that attract students.

The perception changed when the data showed that graduates from A&M were making as much, and in some cases, more, upon graduation
Feedback from interviewers was that A&M grads were better prepared with practical/ hands on experience while uta grads were more schooled in theory (pre-law) degrees

Also, in terms of schools where the students are both smart and athletic, they are the 4th best in Texas, so that helps.
