Why should OSU pay to play OU?
You really think the opponents of OU and OSU wouldn't work with each to help Bedlam stay alive? The opponents could just play each other and I doubt there'd be any required buy-out. Oregon and Oregon State are still playing this year.
The fact is that OU had no issue continuing Bedlam, but OSU is super, super pissed that OU left for a much better conference without OSU and that OSU is stuck in a Big 12 that has zero enticing teams for them to play (they're more excited about playing Arkansas, who is way down on the SEC totem pole, than they are 75% of their conference schedule). For some reason, they thought there was no way OU would move without OSU--which was always funny to me because they constantly shite on OU all the time, but then expect us to make sure they're included with us on any move.
OSU lost their top 2 favorite games of the year in OU and Texas, and those were the top 2 BY FAR. I don't blame them for being a little pissy, but let's not lie about why Bedlam isn't being played.
OSU didn't say it wouldn't play Bedlam. OSU said it didn't have room for more OOC games in the next few years due to existing contracts.
Why should other schools have to scramble to accommodate OU's decision?

I wish we were still playing Bedlam, but we have completed our OOC schedule for the next decade and have agreements with Arkansas, Alabama, Oregon, and Nebraska. Hopefully they get it worked out, but there was no option to get OU on the schedule.

Big 12 is shite. I hate it. We had nearly 150k+ fans in town for homecoming last year against Cincinnati and I didn’t see 1 Cincy fan.
I want a pod with OSU, OU, Texas, A&M, Arky, and Mizzou.
I’m from Houston so I don’t care about the Bedlam record, it’s fun as hell on Gameday. Plus Bedlam gets great national views, natural born Okies don’t realize that. Arkansas and OSU have a baseball thing going on too, our softball is great.
We’re for sure the best cultural fit in the Big 12. I’d rather my school make an extra $50 million and be financially successful don’t know about you. I’d rather take road trips to Fayetteville then fricking Provo Utah for BYU lol.
