Are Texas A&M fans defeatist?

I have been coming to this site for years, but never had an account. I enjoy reading the back and forth between fan bases. However, I decided to post this, because I was tired of reading "Yall will regret Texas being in the SEC." Enough! Maybe Texas pushed you all around in the Big 12 or whatever it is, due to yall being defeatist. Why has the SEC produced so many National Champions? We rise to the competition! As a Bama fan, when I see LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Florida (my hands getting tired.) on the schedule, I know its somebody who could beat us and not back down (fan wise also.) The Big 12 had only Oklahoma to counter Texas. The SEC has 9 Oklahomas (Bama x3, LSU x2, Florida x2, Auburn, Georgia.) Enough already! By the way, welcome Oklahoma! Excited yall might be in. Can't wait to go to Norman. Super Excited about Oklahoma!

Not defeatist…. just want our own identity.
We lived in tu’s shadow for most of the 1900’s and believed joining the SEC was out ticket to create our own destiny… separate from them.

I moved to Texas right after graduation, so I've lived here 20 years. What I've come to understand from living here is that Texas is a bad neighbor. Crooked behind closed door deals to screw over other teams in their conference is just the way they operate. And their level of arrogance is on another level. I dont blame A&M for not wanting to deal with that shiit again. I'm sure TexasESPN will find a way to eff up the SEC.

They do have a historic identity. The Corps. TRADITIONS! Unable to call Texas anything other than tu (it makes us as mad as it does LSU when they call them the swamp kitties). Big college rings. Writing fictional letters on Texags purportedly from visiting fans praising the wonder that is College Station and the class that is Aggie. Fictional reasons for all the riots they caused in the SWC.
