You jest, but I'm sure a large portion of your fanbase legitimately feels that way.

I'm not going to disagree that a large portion would, but our gameday fans are pretty good. There aren't a whole lot of evil shenanigans that go on around Neyland. You venture out in the hills, then that's on you.

I'll also say from experience that the upper decks are pretty hostile. Although, I guess that makes sense. You have the lower-class types up there who are more likely to be rowdy. It also can't help that on my last visit Vandy ruined their hopes for a bowl game.

That surprises me to a degree, as I've never seen anything too weird in the upper deck but I've only sat up there a couple times.

But yeah, that game was probably it. frick that game.

Obviously as a Tennessee fan and student I have a different perspective, but in my years of experiencing Neyland I always thought away fans are treated pretty well there.

Probably didn't help that after you all sang "It's great to be a Tennessee Vol" during the 4th down review, I yelled "Is it still great to be a Tennessee Vol?" when we scored. I sometimes forget that some people take football way too seriously and will fight over it. And other times (like that one) I'm aware of it and just don't care.

Oh, I'm not saying it was some terrible environment where I felt threatened. My friends and family were tolerated well enough. Although, I do credit that to the fact that it was too damned cold to really get rowdy. Everyone was trying so hard not to freeze.

In all fairness losing to Vanderbilt in Neyland at the gun can send your average UT fan into a rabid rage. That coat hanger abortion of a game still pisses me off. I'm still not convinced there was any evidence to respot the ball on that 4th down, not that it matters now.

Saw this on reddit. Are Tennessee fans really trying to convince Sooner fans not to wear their crimson and to wear white so they can participate in the checkering?

much of the hype surrounding the OK-TN game this Saturday is being built up by what is becoming a yearly event, "Checkering Neyland". So I've seen/heard Vol fans pleading and asking Oklahoma fans to do their part in the act.

Many Tennessee fans are simply asking visiting Sooner fans to simply wear white shirts that still show support for OU. This obviously would break up the "checkering" to some degree, but wouldn't "taint" the image by adding crimson red into the stadium.

So here lies an interesting question. Should OU fans feel any pressure to wear white and avoid any confrontation by ruining a spectacle such as this? Would it be so hard for Sooner fans to simply root their team on wearing predominantly white? Or do OU fans have the right to wear whatever they want and say "screw you" to TN fans' attempt at creating a visual spectacle?

Not against Sooner fans representing in their crimson, just interested to hear outside opinions.

Serious as the post-game discussions by OU fans.

Mediocrity creep is a serious focking matter.

The players threw that game. I'm convinced.

I'm sure you're wrong. No one cared that UF wore blue so why the hell would we care if Okie wears crimson? Neyland is a huge stadium and Vol fans will swallow the 7200 Okies or so that show up.

Okay maybe some OCD people cared but I beyond that nada.

You're thinking of the game @Vanderbilt and yes, if you listen to Marlon Walls' recent interview it's not that hard to read between the lines regarding that game. Hell the way they celebrated Chaney's win over UK when he coached the last game after Doolz was fired and showed a happiness they hadn't showed at all under Dooley's tenure said tons.

The ball spotting issue though took place at Neyland though.

You're prolly right. I don't care to look back at results from the Dooley era. Will make me angry.

Which game was it that Bray just didn't seem like Bray?

What would you expect from a group of people who think it is perfectly acceptable to insert a large funnel into their own arse and pour alcohol into it to absorb rectally?

If I was an OU fan I would bring 20 crimson shirts with me. Just to make sure I had enough to pass around to all my friends that may have accidentally forgotten to wear the color
