I believe UAH only offers nursing. That is the only medical facility I am aware of there. I worked on the new nursing building.

Like a previous poster stated. It’s good to have one G5 and one P5. It just gives you more football. I’m thinking about picking up a random G5 team that I have no ties to.

There are also certain things you can't really experience as an LSU or Alabama fan. There's no equivalent to ULM winning or Bryant-Denny or Troy winning in Tiger Stadium for most P5 teams.

Of course there are obvious experiences that P5 teams only get to experience as well.

G5 recruiting is also pretty interesting because the players aren't as thoroughly scouted as P5 guys, and you get to see some guys who it didn't work out for at a P5 school try to explode in the G5.

Is it common for people who graduated from Troy or USA to be die hard UA and AU fans?

Oh yeah. I've even know diehard Bama fans who graduated from Auburn and vice versa. A lot of the time whoever you grew up rooting for trumps everything else, those lifelong feelings are strong and hard to overcome

Are we talking real Uga fans like die hards or they just go to Athens to party on game days bc it’s superior to anything Statesboro offers?

Both. Probably more kids who only want to party in Athens, but I've seen many hardcore UGA fans at Southern. They just can't help the fact they got dropped on their heads as babies

The most vocal UAB fan I know is primarily an Auburn fan who gets really pissed when people call him out on it.

Almost certainly a Birmingham native at least, if he didn't at least go to UAB. What is there to call him out on, Birmingham natives can't also root for one of if not the biggest economic force in the area?

Good points. I totally agree.

Yeah one team I’ve always had an eye on is Louisiana Tech. I just love their program.

Is it better to follow a G5 that’s not in the same state as your P5?

He is, and he did go to UAB, but he likes to put on the UA hater face when he talks about UAB (and claims to be only a UAB fan), and doesn't like for it to be pointed out that his home has mostly AU memorabilia, rather than his alma mater.

Okay, yea that's pretty lame.

I grew up in Birmingham and I've been going to UAB games since the 90s when they were only a few seasons old and they gave away free tickets in my elementary school gym class. I saw Darrell Hackney to Roddy White live, I saw Squeaky Johnson, Mo Finley, the Taylor twins and that great 04 Mike Anderson team live. So I think I can safely claim the title of UAB fan. And I'll always stick up for and support UAB when I can, but I'll never put them over Auburn or claim to be anything other than Auburn first and everyone else second. To forsake your main team like that is unforgivable

My next door neighbors at Auburn were both die hard Bama fans from Tuscaloosa. They were both at Auburn for the pharmacy school.

This could also relate to Arkansas State and Arkansas, which could possibly be the biggest in-state matchup that doesn't exist among the SEC-Sun Belt crowd.
I grew up in Central Arkansas as a Miami fan and hate anything Razorback related.

Damn so there actually is some animosity in Alabama between smaller schools and UA.

About 70% of them with a brain aim it at the true enemy - the BOT's. While not a lot, I saw people with #FreeUAB stickers and shirts at UA's campus. The other retarded 30% are just fans who grew up being Auburn fans and used this as another stick to get at Alabama. Like most Auburn fans in 2014, they didn't give a shite about UAB until they saw an opportunity to bash Alabama. Truth hurts, but they'll get butt hurt if you tell them.

I didn't think what they did to UAB was right, snd I didn't know a single student at UA who supported it. I want UAB to succeed to see them and the city of Bham succeed. Whatever it takes to dry that cesspool Montgomery completely dry.

During new student orientation now, UAB is actively discouraging parents and students from openly showing allegiance to any school other than UAB. I sat through it last weekend. I think that if this can gain momentum, it will go a long way toward giving them a real identity.

UAB is a great school itself (academics-wise) but it's also a weird school with serious penis envy. I can honestly say the smaller schools in Georgia don't give a shite really if you like the top school's football teams - they're usually split Ga Southern/UGA anyways.

SC is the same, as is Tennessee. No one gives a shite about UTC football, and they certainly aren't going to skip a UGA/UTK/Bama game to watch the Mocs.

I went to school at Troy and I’m an Alabama fan 1st and Troy fan 2nd. I left a few Troy home games so I could watch Alabama play.

Here's a common scenario: undergrad and graduate degrees from different schools. Allegiance to both seems very rational and natural.
