One play? Who knew it was 4th down.

LMAO State has no national championships
State really should claim 1941 (and maybe 1940) NC. Bama claims 1941 despite State beating them and winning the SEC

GA will never when a title as long as his daddy is still coaching

I think anyone who says they don't want a NC soon is lying, but I've said many times, that if you use nattys as your only measuring stick, you're likely to be unhappy a LOT more than not. By its nature, ~129 teams are failures using this barometer. In the last 20 years, only 10 total teams have claimed a natty (UCF excluded). Football fandom is supposed to be fun, and something to enjoy. Who the frick wants to spend 90% of the time or more unhappy about it... for something that they had zero direct contribution to the outcome no less.
Kirby has gotten us into the CFP once, to the Natty in that season. We've been *just* out 2 more years. So in 4 seasons, we've been in the mix 75% of the time. I can't think of a lot of teams who wouldn't trade their last 4-5 years for that degree of relevancy. Short list is essentially: Alabama, LSU, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State?
I'm a lot more concerned with directionality and incremental improvement as well as willingness to truly pivot in the face of evidence that things aren't working. Defense continues to improve. Offense was not so Kirby went out and hired objectively a better OC than what we had after determining that internal promotion was not adequate. If second half of Arkansas level of play is what we see going forward, that's a positive sign. If 1st half of Arkansas level of play is what we see going forward, I'll be a lot more concerned about Kirby's ability to lead us forward.
Modern football is unlikely to be won exclusively by having a great defense and a lousy offense (or vice versa frankly). The "defense wins championships" mantra is great in theory, but if your team can't score points with some consistency, everything else has to go perfectly, and that's not super realistic.
Long and short of it for me is, I'm more concerned with at bats. Assuming we don't continue to get stuck in "just outside the top 4" mode, I think at some point, the dam breaks. If we have 4 or 5 appearances in the playoffs and they all end as gut wrenching as the game against Bama, then we can start questioning things a bit. Until then, what would we do differently that would make things better? Is there some magical fricking wizard of a coach that immediately takes us from top 5 to absolutely #1 year in year out? I don't think Saban or Dabo markedly change the output of the program the last few years. Saban *not* being at Alabama likely would mean a natty in 17, and going back to the CFP in 18, just by way of Alabama probably taking a step back without him, but otherwise, what changes for the better with literally any coach not named Kirby at the head?

Well, if we were trying to when a title I would be worried. I sure wish I could remember what really, really dumb thing you said so I could throw it back up to your face again.

"We" are, or you are? There is a difference, you know. Believe it or not you do not represent the entire fan base, and by looking at the responses in this thread it would appear as if more Georgia fans agree with me than you.
