I got mad playing golf with a client one time who was very good at golf. He looked at me and said, “Just enjoy yourself. You’re not good enough to get pissed off.”

That’s kind of the way I feel about Auburn football. We’re not good enough to get pissed off. I still keep up with it regularly or I wouldn’t be on this board. But Auburn fans in general feel like we haven’t trotted out a team worth getting too emotionally invested in going on a decade. That coupled with NIL, transfer portal, monetization at every nook and cranny, just feel feels like it isn’t worth getting too upset about anymore.

If Auburn beats Baylor and looks like a decent team doing it, you’ll see a lot of us perk up and pay attention, but until then it’s kind of like “whatever”. If we lose that game, most of us will bide our time until basketball starts.

2017? 2 very impressive wins against UGA and Bama but a disastrous final two games and 4 losses total. Not a banner year by any stretch.
It was a banner year for Gus and Jimmy Sexton who bent Auburn over a barrel and raped them for a guaranteed 7yr/$49mm contract. That shite those 2 pulled was unbelievable. Like Gus was seriously considering going to freaking Arkansas.

Hugh, like Gus knows the best they'll ever do in the coaching profession is the at a top SEC school of AU's caliber.

This is the unvarnished truth.
