Your answer was fine, but people are turning this into "Why, of course I don't hope that poor girl was raped!!1"

And that's not what I said in the OP

we will never know if she really was

IDK, South Carolina is having its best run ever and it just happens to coincide with the success of the conference. Like they say, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

don't see what difference it will make. The only thing effected will be his Heisman campaign. If he gets charged he will turn himself in, post bail, and await trail; most likely next year. I am quite sure it will not having any bearing on his playing status for the rest of the 2013-2014 season.

Nope, this is not right.
If he is charged on a felony count, per NCAA rules, he cannot participate in any official NCAA activity (i.e, he can't play in any games until charges dropped or he is exonerated).

I like JW.

I support JW.

I don't think he is guilty.

But I want him charged because I hate nothing more than Auburn, and getting revenge would be delicious.

Because revenge is ice cream, you see.

There is no way to know if he actually did or not

so what you're saying is yes, you hope he's charged? Because if so, it means he did it?

Don't get me wrong, FSU has always been a favorite team of mine since childhood, and I have a close friend that played TE for them from 97-00. However it's not like they haven't made sure that the best play for championships, regardless of legal troubles.

ETA: For the record, I don't believe any charges against Jameis come down today.
-------------------------------------------------

I'm certainly not an FSU fan, but you're dead wrong about his playing if he's formally charged. FSU school rules totally restrict an athlete from competing while they are under felony charges...look it up.

I don't think you'd find an SC fan argue otherwise. But it is hard to deny that the SEC's success as a whole has brought a lot of money into the program which helps in recruiting, facilities, etc.

I don't really care. I mean, if he did it I hope he does and I think he should as per my previous thread (if he was non celeb he would already be charged)

I still think OSU loses this week

If the evidence indicates that he did it. Is that more clear?

No. I do not hope that a young man is charged with rape just because of football. I understand wanting to go to the BCSNCG or whatever, but that is wrong. I hope he is innocent.

You have no way of knowing that. What happened that night? What kind of emails, text messages and social media posts have there been from the alleged victim about it? What did the witnesses say about the events of the night in question? What kind of relationship, if any, did the two parties have before and after the incident?

Oh if he is innocent he'll get off sooner rather than later.
