I seriously doubt anybody is paid to troll. It's not like there is a dearth of mad and bitter fans that want their rivals to fail horribly.

Any forum that has advertising is, effectively, paid by the click. I am pretty sure it's why the owner of this board doesn't create a board that allows for civil discussion of SEC sports and doesn't allow trash talk. That is, a civil board would draw some of the posters that would otherwise come to this board, and trash talk probably creates more "clicks" than civil discussion would. Since there are like 40 forums on this website, but no forum for civil discussion, it's the only reason I can fathom.
