That seems like a pretty reasonable comment unless unless the argument some people are making is that a head coach can't fundamentally change the culture of a program and set it up for long term success with the right successor. THAT comment is what has a lot of LSU fans upset?

I understand why the Bama fans are upset.
They're used to having a coach throwing his players/assistants under the bus when he has to. There is definitely a jealousy dynamic going on here.

considering he has made wins much harder to come by for Bama than any other coach in the country Saban has faced, that should be last thing you want

it really shouldn't be hard to understand how asinine the original comment was, but alabama people want to give nick saban credit for everything dating back to the building of the pyramids. it's kind of creepy actually but i guess what else do you expect from a fan base that will kill each other for not being upset enough over a loss?
