If it is weak, name me the coach at Mizzou that was better than Wimp (besides Haith and some coach from the golden age of radio) ?

So hold up. This thread is no longer about Mizzou, but is now about a coach at Alabama that won 69% of his games and punched a chick in the face?

Mizzou, Tigers have never been to a single Final Four
Mizzou has more wins than any team that has not been to the final four, I am not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. And more wins than many teams that have been.

Hahaha grits certainly took this thread another way. On a side note I do hope we have a lot of mizzou fans down in Athens. We had pretty good representation in the swamp last year

I think there will be a good showing. I imagine a lot of people are making some last minute plans to get to Athens now. Gerogia fans overall spoke well about Columbia and the people they met, I imagine a lot of Mizzou fans were planning on making the return and a lot more will be making those short term plans now that it has the potential to be a game.

I can not take the credit. A Mizzou poster accused CatFan of pinning things on Pintrest and sh*t got real after that.

PS, still waiting on an answer to the Mizzou coach question?

Go ahead and pick a 12 year period of Coach Stewart's tenure that matches up well with Wimp's tenure at Bama and we'll not pretend like Coach Stewart's 3 decade tenure at Mizzou should even be compared to the guy that beat some chick and got fired.

Cool?

Mizzou has done well in conference tournaments winning like 16 of them, but they always lay an egg in the NCAA tournament.

Mizzou is a failure of an athletic department. Deal.With.It.

Yet somehow we got voted into the best little conference in the entire world with that athletic department.

Sorry for not being charter members, but glad we got unanimously invited. :highfive:

You should be careful. The last time Georgia faced a school that recently went up against the mighty Governors of Austin Peay they almost had their season ruined.

Hopefully that's the stance your football team is taking during practice this week.

St. Louis and Kansas City are two good sized markets. It's not the university. It's the television market. If you don't understand that... well, I can't help you.

I agree this is weird

FWIW, you guys are SEC now so it is all about the NCAA hardware and not the SEC hardware. Arkansas used the SEC to rocket to a NCAA title so maybe it is a good thing Mizzou left those other conferences behind.

1932 = No SEC tournament
1933 and 1934 = SEC tournament
1935 = No SEC tournament
1936 - 1952 = SEC tournament
1953 - 1978 = No SEC tournament
1979 - 2013 = SEC tournament

SEC is 81 and there have only been 53 tournaments
53 / 81 = 65 % years with SEC tournaments
28 / 81 = 35 % years without SEC tournaments
Imagine if the SEC had 1/3 more tournaments and all those added wins in historic totals

27 Kentucky
06 Alabama - Tide would be #2 in the SEC so the football equivalent for Mizzou would be Nebraska in the Big 8 / Big 12
04 Tennessee
03 Mississippi State
03 Florida
02 Vanderbilt
02 Georgia
02 Ole Miss
01 LSU
01 Arkansas
01 Auburn
01 Georgia Tech (when they were in the SEC)

And if you don't understand why the university had plenty to do with the decision to invite Mizzou,

Actually it was a combination of it all. I know in the tiny minds of most, there are like 20 division 1 programs. But in reality there are a lot. Not many have a legitimate football and basketball program, that alone sets us apart from the majority. Then add in two major league cities, a solid academic school, and overall quality secondary sports. Plus a pretty darn clean and respectful athletic department as a whole.

Now, Cat? I avoided commenting ehre because, well, it was MS2. I try not to get involved in that kind of nonsense.

But saying our athletic department is a failure? Come on, you're better than this. You know better.

Semo, you (bc of your gender) should understand why Cat is being like this at the moment.
