This entire thing has been over blown on the edges. It is common knowledge that a viral respiratory infection that is deadlier than other known issues should require adjustments to normal life. However, we’ve known since last summer being outside is relatively safe and walking through a store if you don’t stand in a poorly ventilated area is safe and church worship if you take basic precautions is safe. However, at home, a bar, restaurant staff, riding a bus, sharing close spaces, etc near an infected person isn’t safe and increases your risk.

If Vandy is all vaccinated and they played yesterday, or whenever, exactly why can't they play today?

Again, they are all already vaccinated. It's an outdoor sport. It is not suppose to transmit outside.

Let those players play with mask on, who gives a shite. Make all of NC St. play with N95 masks.

Why can't they play the game? Again, Vandy is already vaccinated. Absolute clown world.

No. They very likely had a low viral load - way too low to trigger symptoms and virtually certain to be too low to spread it but still trips a positive test. That’s pretty much what the vaccine is supposed to do.

The scandal isn’t that they tested positive. The scandal is that either the NCAA, the state of Nebraska, or both demanded that young, vaccinated, asymptomatic people got tested at all.

So those multiple cardiac arrests of covid positive people I worked in November and December didn’t really happen? Thanks for letting me know.

This.

If you are vaccinated and don't show symptoms you shouldn't be tested. The goal isn't to prevent the virus but to stop its effectiveness at killing people and stressing our hospital systems. College kids with viral loads too low to spread covid shouldn't be an issue.

NC State couldn’t play the game due to lack of personnel.

It had nothing to do with Vandy.

Covid-positive athletes aren’t going to be allowed to play due to liability issues for the organization that just got called out by the Supreme Court for unlawfully restricting athletes from being able to make money.

I’ll give Kim Mulkey credit for calling it out on March…

"They need to dump the COVID testing. Wouldn't it be a shame to keep COVID testing and then you got kids that test positive or something and they don't get to play in the Final Four? So you just need to forget the COVID tests and get the four teams playing in each Final Four and go battle it out."

The vaccine doesn’t necessarily prevent you from testing positive.
That was never the point.

Um, it's the something.

People are idiots. If you read the actual claims of, say, the Pfizer vaccine, it says "up to 92%" efficacy. That's absolutely best case. The low end of the range, after two doses is around 50%.

And that's if you believe those claims from Pfizer's clinical tests.

Keep in mind the fastest to market EVER for a vaccine was previously 4 years. This was rolled out in 6 months and is the never before tried mRNA.

If lemmings would actually not be lemmings maybe that'd help us all not keeping looking to big pharma to fix the health crisis is this country.

I made this meme a year ago this exact date; it’s still relevant today:

I don’t want to have to listen to another freaking podcast, or shift through all the competing facts and info on COVID, like most of you I bet, I am so over this shite. It needs to the virus that shall not be named.

And a big FU to China, you know what you did u mfers, and I hope we are not too big of pussies now for a little covert payback. At least turn off their power for a few weeks in the winter.

just add NAC or glutathione and that's my daily preventative. Zinc sits in the same receptor site.

Are you that ignorant to believe that a vaccine, any vaccine, is 100% effective?

You should be embarrassed.

IT mostly has to do with the BS way they are testing these players. They should not be using PCR to test asymptomatic players like this. They could do an antigen test, 30 minutes before the game, it literally takes 15 minutes, and is a far better predictor of the ability to infect others. PCR is way too sensitive and does not connote infectivity.

The Triangle Universities of Duke, UNC, and NC State love that liberal teat so they get stung by the very rules they so love. F um.
