I was one of the few on here that said O would surprise people with his success. Good recruiter and one of the best DC in the country. Yeah Coach O is just a Rah Rah guy but don't underestimate that kind of personality when dealing with 18-20 year olds.

just goes to show that literally anyone can win games at LSU

Pretty much true...with the exception of Curley Hallman.

Congratulations on hiring a coach with one of the top 10 worst SEC Winning percentages
And yet we are still have seasons where we finish in the top 10....

How does that make you feel Miss State fan?

It literally just happened. 2 of the 3 had first year head coaches who are building programs.

I am not saying LSU ‘sucks’ or anything like that. Just trying to prepare you for a ceiling of 9-3 every year going forward. You might be fine with that because depending on how the playoff seeds shake out you can make a NY6 bowl game and have a chance at 10-3 like last year. Is that the goal though? You haven’t been competitive in the West since 2011. There are levels to this and LSU isn’t close.

I personally think they can get to 10-2 if everything falls together.

Dubose and Shula won 10 games at Bama during 11 game regular seasons. 10 wins is easy these days.

And Dubose followed up his 10-win season with a 3-8 year and was canned. Shula won 10 and then lost 6 the next year and was canned for Saban. I'm willing to bet Orgeron won't have that kind of collapse this year. Back-to-back 10 win seasons in the SEC West are not easy. LSU has a fair shot at that this year. I believe only two other schools other than Bama in the West have had back-to-back 10 win seasons since they expanded to 12-game regular seasons. LSU multiple times and Arkansas once with Petrino.

Maybe but I doubt it. 10-2 isn’t getting you in the playoffs barring mass chaos in other conferences. LSU needs to decide what they want to be. Miles took them there and they fired him for not being able to beat Alabama and his replacement has been out scored 63-10 with 2 shutouts. Seems like they are going backwards in that respect.

Not great but still good. Woody will get a real coach in here sooner rather than later too.

Not that surprising. Recruiting matters most today and O is an elite recruiter. He’ll need to hire the right OC to make a run, but LSU will be good on talent alone.

its incredible, and even so he won more SEC games here as the interim coach than he did the entire time he was at Ole Miss

More proof that the only way to win at Ole Miss is to cheat your arse off. I’m proud of O for running a clean program
