I think we should go to ten conference games. With 9 you have uneven home and away each year.

I want a 9th football game because I want 1 more week of exciting football.

I don't want the SEC to keep winning championships cause it "easier" for us with only 8 games. Hell and I want a 9th game to have another chance for that team to lose.

I just want 1 more week of good football and for that get 1 more week of SEC football which is the best football there is.

then everyone will try to schedule Duke, Indiana, etc. every year.
man up, the NFL plays 16 real games every season. What league are we preparing these athletes for?

I like an 8 game schedule myself. Hell, I was against adding more teams as well. Like ATM though, so now I am kind of glad we expanded. Would still like to stick to 8 gms cause UF already plays FSU each yr and rotates Miami.

Actually never thought about that. Good point. Makes my 8 even better.

abojt you naysayers that claim a nine game schedule would hurt SEC national championships, Auburn probably got screwed in 04 cause they didn't play nine.

Definitely understand this, and I agree the games are spectacular. As a conference though, when is enough enough on our teams? I think 8 is plenty hard enough especially since we have been scheduling solid OOC opponents (for the most part). The kickoff games in Dallas etc are just as hard as another SEC game (and more dangerous due to being early in the season).

8 SEC games, plus an OOC vs Michigan or Oregon etc is plenty hard of a schedule imho fwiw tbh.

If we add another game we can play the Top 3 from the East every year

This argument will be better once the playoffs start...

Not sure we would get an extra week. Might just do away with 1 OOC gm.

how in the world did you not realize that having an odd number of games would make home and away numbers different?
this problem is solved by the times you have your five home games, two will be like Kentucky and ole miss. sort of evens out the discrepancy.

it really won't. In 2012 the SEC had the greatest SOS by every measure despite the 8 game schedule. So no SEC school is going to get shut out because of schedule as is. This issue is about fan experience, not playoffs

aren't the Big 10 and Big 12 the only major conferences that do 9 right now?

Didn't the Pac 12 and ACC decide to go back to 8?

I agree. Going undefeated in the sec is a pretty amazing accomplishment. I think the with the 9th game added in, undefeated seasons will become more rare in the sec. I also think this is a gimmick to keep an sec team out of the national championship.

Our league is way strong enough already. We have been in the BCSNC game almost every year and we have a built-in SOS that is unmatched.

I believe adding another SEC game to each of our schedules will just be another week of giving losses to each other. It can ONLY hurt our championship chances imo. We dont need another conference game.

Anyone else agree?

It doesn't need to be a league mandate. But if we don't play a 9th SEC game it needs to be another BCS opponent imho. I'm tired of seeing the highschool teams brought to BDS. It's shameful that a program of Alabama's stature stoops that low.

No desire for a 9th SEC game

Makes no sense, tough league already and I have heard nothing in regards to the unbalance it would create with home/road

Uneven number sucks for road/home

shite go to 10 if you are gonna do it and then you put the pressure on the others to get to 10

Neither is ideal, I'm fine with sticking at 8
