I'd rather not go to 9 simply because it limits your scheduling. I'd like instead to just implement the following rules:

1. No FCS game

I'm all for this, but it would require all the FBS conferences cooperating together. The SEC has just as much right to schedule OOC games in November as the other conferences have the right to schedule them all early. All the conferences would need to get together and mutually agree which weekends will be for OOC games.

I'd love to have a ninth conference game and start playing AU annually again (along with LSU).

I have to give Florida fans credit. They play LSU every year and don't whine about it. They embrace the challenge. LSU used to be a gimme game for them but they didn't suddenly start whining about playing LSU when Saban came along. Alabama didn't whine about having to play Tennessee when UT beat us 7 times in a row from 1995-2001. Tennessee does not whine about having to play Alabama and we are absolutely dominating them right now. Auburn does not whine about having to play Georgia and Georgia does not whine about Auburn. The only team/coach/fans that cry about having to play a quality school from the other division is LSU, Les Miles, and the whiniest fan base in college football.
