with the Tigers next on the schedule for the Vols, is it too early to revisit their their last visit to Baton Rouge?

I was bartending at the time and saw LSU lose. Our ice machine was broken so I had to run to the store quickly to grab a few bags. I turned on the post game show and was so confused because i thought they were playing the highlights and I didn’t remember at all what they were freaking out at.

Only time I boo'd a victory. Was pathetic. The crowds reaction when we start to sub is classic

Much like Monte Kiffin and his Tampa 2 system, Derek Dooley will be forever remembered as the architect of the 6-3-4 defense.

The Post-Game call in shows were fricking epic that afternoon/evening. Pitchforks were out for Miles that day. Many wanted him fired on the spot for a game that we won.

I made a short video of Miles explaining in clear, concise language what happened in the final few seconds of that game.

If you thought that was entertaining, just imagine what Tony Basilio's show was like.

There was a Rant poster a few years ago who called in pretending to be a Tennessee fan just to troll Basilio.

and somehow, some way, that doofus beat Alabama, finished the year 11-2/#8, and was a few plays from going undefeated. I think a lot of people forget that despite Cam doing Cam things, that Auburn/LSU game was back and forth from start to finish and the lead was never greater than a TD, with Auburn not scoring the deciding go-ahead score until late in the 4th

There were great times in the Miles era but by the end too many moments above. Just wasn’t fun anymore.

Scored on our first and last play from scrimmage.

After that, I realized come high noon, Les would hold a magnifying glass over the game clock to torture them.

The truly sad thing is that Dooley repeated the problem multiple times that year. This was just a preview of that defense.

Vintage is right…T-Bob Herbert bailed him out snapping that ball to Jefferson, with time running out still wasn’t ready for the snap and would have let the clock expire…fricking Les still ran toss dive to Ridley thru great effort had to bull doze his way into the end zone…

What a disorganized mess the LSU offense was under that coach.

Was surreal back at the tailgate after the game, we were all just laughing our asses off at the absurdity of it all.
