Yep especially if you don't exist to pump sunshine 24x7. Being critical is not allowed on some of our boards and I've had a lot to bitch about the last 15 years.

You seem a little slow so I'll help you out. I don't want to change the rant. The rant can be fun. Sometimes I like serious football discussions with fans of other teams.
You may want to look up the word "alternate" to clue you in to what I was asking. Or not. It's up to you.

Believe it or not, even team forums can get unnecessary puerile and turn into dick measuring contests.
There's no escaping it in an environment where losers get to be anonymous.

Yeah it was a silly question in hindsight. Watch parties and bars exist for stuff like that where being a dick might lead to a bloody nose. Although I've seen that more than once.

That's the tRant and the SECRant in all its glory. It is far from perfect but people actually interact here. Other boards either descend into anarchy or are relentless sunshine pumpers that make even the most vile cults recoil.
You can, believe it or not, have serious discussions about football on here. It happens weekly. Sure, you will get "suck deez nutz" posts from someone living in their parent's basement in their 50s, but if you look for it, you can find serious football talks here every week on a variety of subjects.
I've checked out other boards. Be they a broad based sports forum, or a team board, and you won't get a more honest discussion of sports than you do here.
Chicken's masterpiece isn't perfect, it just happens to be the best place to discuss college sports. Don't go to the Poliboard though. Best to pretend that doesn't exist.

I'm a conservative that attended a highly liberal university. I've learned to stay away from politics. especially online.

I think they forget we are on the SEC board of an LSU site. That’s like a Sooner posting on Orangebloods and they can’t figure out why his team gets trolled.

Democracy sucks though. A constitutional republic where the only purpose of government is very limited to protecting the rights of the people and nothing else is far superior. You will not find the word democracy in the declaration of independence, the constitution or basically any documents the founding fathers wrote. They knew better.
For example, why is it ok for 51% of the people to decide I need to send money to foreign countries? In a constitutional republic, you would be free to start a go fund me and raise the money yourself. But no, somehow the 51% need to have the power over everyone else in order to force them to donate as well?
And then you combine that with an uneducated and purposely dumbed down population who take all their commands from MSM propaganda, and you don't even really have a democracy, you just have fascism as the corporations buy up everything and decide how things go with the mere illusion of democracy.
It's absolutely terrible and just another form of men(includes women) using government to control others and carry out their agenda.

ok this is frightening. I think we share the same brain. That sounds, almost word for word, like one of my rants to my family.

Exactly. Pure democracy where the voting populace are not virtuous, knowledgeable, or wise is a recipe itself for misrule and injustice.
