Has nothing to do with Jayden, Nabers, and BTJ. Our defense was historically bad.

You're right. This absolutely vindicates Brian Kelly.

They have the same problems they've always had.

They aren't getting the skill players needed to beat elite teams.
Sark wanted Jaden Greathouse, WR from Westlake HS in Austin. ND got him, and they also got a good LB that Texas wanted.

ND will compete favorably in this environment.

No, but this was closer than Kelly got.

This ND put up a fight in the title game and won actual postseason games.

2012 is the closest Kelly got and it was clear they didn’t really belong despite their record

So you're saying 2012 Bama =/= 2024 Ohio State?

For all intents and purposes, the game was over after the first drive.

Ohio State played conservative in the second half and made it look closer than it really was, but they were doing whatever they wanted to Notre Dame prior.

They will be what they have been, a good team that can't beat actual elite level squads.

They always have a guy or two, but never elite level skills talent.

Without Riley Leonard's legs this season, they would've been fairly average.

Alabama went conservative in the second half and all that meant was ND broke even with Bama's backups and offense-lite game plan.

OSU almost gave the game away.

Seems pretty different to me.

Ohio State went pretty conservative in the second half...

AJ McCarron threw the ball more in the second half of the 2012 game than Ohio State did last night.

I disagree.

They pick everyone on their schedule and don't have to worry about a Conference Championship Game.

Their alumni have the pockets to fund NIL, and they have a young coach that kids seem like they enjoy playing for.

As far as exposure goes, every game except one will be on NBC, ABC, or CBS. That may not be as huge of an advantage as it used to be, but they'll never have to worry about being bumped to Peacock because NBC has another game which is more appealing to air.

Wealthy, large alumni base that has a HC they beleive in + $20+ million in CFP $$$ they don't have to share could go a along way in sparking some NIL funds and talent interest. We'll see.

Everyone keeps talking about their NIL but they aren't pulling top level transfers in general and aren't stacking top 10 recruiting classes.
