I wonder how many times this has been discussed?

Man, I dunno how the so-called NFL scouts can keep their jobs, when you have buttsore Barners on here giving their expert opinions.

He won it because our kicker can't kick the ball 3 yards off the ground.

Even if it had been high enough, Rolo or Julio were going to block it. Beyond that, it was heading wide left.

4 down instead of 3 makes a difference scheme wise. Cody is a 3-4 NT/NG, Suh is a 4-3 DT, that's like comparing stats of an OLB and a MLB.

You put a dominant 4-3 DT in college at NT and he would do just as much as Cody if not more.

Dang...so Von Miller of Aggy had as many sacks as all of your LB's combined. Guess their 3/4 DT should have made AA...

His only real asset is being fricking big. He doesn't dominate in college like he should with his size.

I also wasn't talking about the pros. I was talking about college.

He's dominated enough for our LBs to get all the tackles and lead our team to an unblemished season. I just wish our defense was as dominating as LSU was this year.

Terrence Cody is an electrifying D-Lineman that can beat you with his arm and legs. Terrence Cody is ultra quick in the pocket and virtually impossible to stop in a one on one situation. Terrence Cody is the type of D-Lineman that can put so much pressure on a offense because of his ability to make a play outside of the pocket. Terrence Cody is also a good D-Lineman that shows all the throws. Terrence Cody is a "Michael Vick" type of D-Lineman and very exciting to watch.

So your point is a 4-3 DT is more athletic than a 350+ NG? Well no shite...

Are we gonna compare Warran Sapp's and Reggie White's stats to Jamal Williams' and Casey Hampton's now?

There's no sense in arguing with experts.

Do you think Cody is dominant because he is 350+ or because he also has skills. I say it is just because he is huge. Other players skills could make up for their sometimes smaller size.

Whoa hoss, keep up. I didn't bring up "freeing our LB's up for sacks" or comparing your D to the franking Pittsburg Steelers. Go back and read.

Frankly, saying Cody's 0 sacks attributed to the success of all other sacks by your D is not doing the other kids service. That akin to saying all Arkansas sacks are a result of Malcolm Sheppard and not the talents of Stadther, DD, Bequette etc...

Further, if Cody is an AA, maybe FB is more appropriate, which BTW is more of a gimmick as any/all of you claim Darren running the Wildcat was.

Just accept that he is good, but not AA good. He makes your Defense strong but is not the cog. It is what it is.

It's no coincidence that 3-4 NTs are 330+. Sure you could put a 4-3 DT at NT and 3-4 and he'd have some success, but they won't make it in the pros as one. Bruce Smith played inside in college, but he had to make the switch to end in the NFL...

I ain't talkig pros. I am saying he has not been out of this world on the DL. If anything he should be super dominant with his huge advantage in size.

What is your standards for a 3-4 NG? Stats are like bikinis, they're nice to look at but they don't tell you the whole story.

Is it just an coincidence that Bama's run D has improved over the last 2 years with Cody in the middle? It wasn't that great in '07...

Casey Hampton had 2 sacks in his AA year, and he played in a 4-3 at Tejas.

I'm just stating that sacks don't mean shite on how well your defense is playing. Sabans defense is based on pressure and collapsing the middle. No team has been able to run up the middle on us the past two years. So I would say Cody is the big reason for that.
