FWIW as far as the next tier bowl games go the Alamo is actually pretty nice. Drink all day on the Riverwalk and stumble over to the stadium and then try to make it to your hotel before you pass out. It's like a poor man's Sugar Bowl.

I can agree with that. Both cities have plenty of people watching, great food, and all the locals speak a foreign language.

Alamo Bowl is a great bowl for Horns, a lot of history there these past few years, basically their second home in TX, OU owns the Cotton Bowl I believe

Meanwhile, the Birmingham Bowl's doing cartwheels.

I like this for the SEC. This site is convenient for traveling, as there are plenty of hotels downtown, entertainment and dome within walking distance.

I’d like to get some SEC schools coming this way.

The Alamo Bowl? I know we don’t use it for football, but didn’t they host Final 4 basketball one year? It would be a good basketball tourney location

We went to see the Ags in the sweet 16 in 2008. Lost to Memphis and Derrick Rose 65-64. Think they lost to Kansas in final if I remember correctly.

I was a that game as well. I can still see Acie missing that layup. Absolute gut punch of a game.

Which was the game someone got hacked against UCLA in the tournament. That wasn’t in San Antonio?

If we can get San Antonio and San Diego as additional bowl sites, I like it.

No, that was an 8 seed vs 1 seed game and it was Sloan who got hacked at the end. It was an obvious foul, in fact it was pretty apparent they were actively TRYING to foul to get him to the line instead of giving up the layup. Still wasn’t enough for the refs to get UCLA’s cock out of their mouth.

Where that game was escapes me right now but it wasn’t San Antonio (I would have been there). I remember Russ was on that UCLA team though.

Edit: Found the pic. There was no foul called here.
