That’s all relative to other programs, though. That’s my point. If 10 out of 15 at the other power programs are also leaving, this stat is moot.

1.) Hardly any other programs were signing 15 top 100 players. That’s why alabama had such a huge leg up on everyone. They signed these guys and kept almost all of them for 3-4 years.

For comparison, alabama only signed 8 top 100 players in their 2025 class.

2.) You and I both know that no one is losing players at the same rate as alabama. They had the perfect system under saban to pay more than anyone under the table but now that it’s all out in the open they can’t retain top talent like they used to. They don’t have the financial firepower.

I don't follow UA sports online. I just come here to open Stidhams threads. He stalks Bama more than I ever could.

At least one is, Auburn. Auburn is even worse. Alabama has 33% of the players you listed still on the team compared to Auburn who has 18% of the 4 stars from the same recruiting class still on the Auburn team.

The real question is who are these teams losing transfers replacing them with. If it’s equal or better talent then there’s no issue.

Bryan Harsin wasn’t bringing in top 100 players. Freeze has already brought in a lot.

DeBoer already has a higher ranked recruiting class in Year One than Freeze does in Year Three.

But continue doing research on Alabama's downfall.

Oh you mean the several he signed in the 2025 class that haven’t seen the practice field yet and the few new freshman from the 2024 class?

Brilliant.

It’s going to workout really well, though.

LSU’s 2022 class of 4 and 5 star high school signees (only 7 total)..

5* Harold Perkins - LSU
4* Will Campbell - LSU
4* Walker Howard - Ole Miss > Louisiana
4* Quency Wiggins - Colorado
4* Emory Jones - LSU
4* Laterrance Welch - ASU>undecided
4* Demario Tolan - Auburn

LSU retained three of their seven 4 or 5 star recruits from the 2022 class.

So far, here is how the 2022 classes for those three teams stack up.

LSU - 43% retained
Alabama - 33% retained
Auburn - 18% retained

Bryan Harsin signed zero top 100 players in his 2022 class.

Freeze has signed 12 in the 2024 and 2025 classes.

Almost lost this year to one of Auburns worst teams in a while.

Bryan Harsin brought in 11 four star recruits per on3. Not all of them were top 100, but that is a sizable number of 4 star recruits. It was more than LSU, Clemson, Miami, Florida, Missouri, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Florida State, Iowa, Iowa State, Arkansas, Arizona State, or South Carolina. Auburn was tied with Michigan with 11 four stars each, and only one 4 star behind Oregon who had 12.

But it doesn’t matter, because only 2 of them stuck around Auburn. Middle Tennessee State University has as many players from that recruiting class as Auburn has.

Alabama beat Auburn 28-14 and the game was never in question after the second quarter. But I guess after watching your team get destroyed 42-13 by Alabama that seems like a close score.
